The Trump Administration is asking Congress for $200 billion for the war in Iran but hasn’t bothered to tell members of Congress what the money would actually be spent on.
My job on the Appropriations Committee is to know exactly how your tax dollars are being spent. Instead, I’m finding out the details in the NEWSPAPER, just like you.
This Administration told us we didn’t have money to keep health care affordable for millions of Americans. They told us we had to cut nearly $200 billion in food assistance from seniors, veterans, and working families.
Yet, they have no trouble finding $200 BILLION for an unauthorized war the American people don’t want?

Trump made the largest EVER cuts to SNAP and gave ICE 75 billion for detention centers and deportations – with untrained and unchecked agents.
I introduced the Feeding Families Not Fear Act with @RepMcGovern to drain the ICE slush fund and cancel the cuts to food assistance.
