Fit For Golf - Mike Carroll
Gary Woodland averaged 130mph of club head speed at the Houston Open. That is not a typo. Also, his driver is 44.75 in (slightly shorter than standard) and resembles a barbell 😅. It’s ultra stiff and weighs 80g +. Extremely impressive.

Full details of Tiger Woods' rollover accident: A truck pulling a trailer was pulling over to begin a turn into a driveway, saw Tiger's Range Rover approaching at a high rate of speed. When attempting to pass him, Tiger swerved at the last moment to avoid impact, but clipped the trailer and rolled on his side, skidding down the road. Tiger exited the vehicle through the passenger door. Local police that arrived on the scene observed that he was impaired by some kind of drug or medication, but not alcohol. They described him as "lethargic". At the jail Tiger passed a breathalyzer, but refused a urine test. No injuries were reported and no drugs were found in the vehicle. County officers stated that given his speed, it was very fortunate that nobody was traveling in the other direction, as it "could have been a lot worse". Woods has been charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Per county statues he will be held at the county jail for a minimum of 8 hours.

Is there anything worse than a crying baby on a plane? I wish parents would control their children. It’s so disruptive. I refuse to believe a baby cries for 10 hours. At some point this is just bad parenting, right?

Earlier today, a user attempted to buy AAVE using $50M USDT through the Aave interface. Given the unusually large size of the single order, the Aave interface, like most trading interfaces, warned the user about extraordinary slippage and required confirmation via a checkbox. The user confirmed the warning on their mobile device and proceeded with the swap, accepting the high slippage, which ultimately resulted in receiving only 324 AAVE in return. The transaction could not be moved forward without the user explicitly accepting the risk through the confirmation checkbox. The CoW Swap routers functioned as intended, and the integration followed standard industry practices. However, while the user was able to proceed with the swap, the final outcome was clearly far from optimal. Events like this do occur in DeFi, but the scale of this transaction was significantly larger than what is typically seen in the space. We sympathize with the user and will try to make a contact with the user and we will return $600K in fees collected from the transaction. The key takeaway is that while DeFi should remain open and permissionless, allowing users to perform transactions freely, there are additional guardrails the industry can build to better protect users. Our team will be investigating ways to improve these safeguards going forward.

@Howard__24 Wow do they legally have to add interest if returning the deposits or is that a choice by them?

Sequoia (@sequoia) Partner @JulienBek tells us why the next $1Trillion company will be a software company masquerading as a services firm: "Ultimately, if you look at the TAM today, for every dollar that you spend on software, $6 are spent on services". "If you sell the tools, the models are getting better and better and so you're at risk... whereas, if you sell the services, you're actually delivering outcomes." "Until now, we could really just go after the $1, but now with services first and human at the centre, we think you can capture the six".
