I’m late to last night’s public flogging of Mark Pope, but it is true that he needs to speak and address Big Blue Nation. It’s also fair to wonder whether someone inside UK Athletics is actively sabotaging him with PR advice, because while publicly addressing some of these concerns is ultimately a positive, I can’t imagine that @X video was the best way to do it. Still, more transparency is always better, and I’m interested to see which questions he addresses and how he answers them. It could say a lot. Maybe it won't. However, something is better than nothing.

@WildcatsTongue Most of the “whiffs” this offseason have been decisions we made, mostly, to not overpay like last year. They aren’t whiffs, they’re decisions that we have stood firmly on.

We would have had to MAJORLY overpay to get this guy as a backup. I'm fine with this "whiff" (if you want to call it that)

KSR and other media members bashed Pope for not speaking to the public when almost no other high major coach has at this point in the off-season, and now look at the results. List one big name school that’s head coach has spoken to the media since the portal opened. He’s getting absolutely bashed by our own fans and other fanbases just because KSR and Matt Jones were upset.

Because he's a coach's son, I think we forget that Mason Williams is a legit 4-star point guard that dropped 23/5/5 in a win over #1 Prolific Prep last year. He shot 41% from three his senior season. He will absolutely get minutes next season.
