Καζαμίας κάλεσε το Υπουργείο Οικονομικών να διοργανώσει δημόσια συζήτηση για τους πραγματικούς λόγους για την κατάρρευση τότε της οικονομίας και να πουν κατά πόσον θέλουν να διαψεύσουν την επίσημη δήλωση του αντιπροέδρου της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής Όλι Ρεν στο Ευρωκοινοβούλιο, στις 17 Απριλίου 2013. Συγκεκριμένα ο κ. Όλι Ρεν δήλωσε: «τα προβλήματα της Κύπρου συσσωρεύθηκαν εδώ και πάρα πολλά χρόνια. Στην καρδιά τους βρίσκεται ένας υπερμεγέθης τραπεζικός τομέας ο οποίος άνθισε ελκύοντας ξένες καταθέσεις με πολύ ευνοϊκούς όρους…Το βάθος των τραπεζικών προβλημάτων προήλθε από τις φτωχές πρακτικές διαχείρισης κινδύνου. Λόγω της έλλειψης επαρκούς εποπτείας, επιτράπηκε στις δύο μεγαλύτερες τράπεζες να εκτεθούν σε συσσωρευμένους κινδύνους. Ήταν τα προβλήματα σε αυτές τις τράπεζες που προκάλεσαν τα προβλήματα στα δημόσια οικονομικά και την οικονομική ύφεση και όχι το αντίθετο». Ο κος Καζαμίας υπενθύμισε ότι ο κος Χριστοδουλίδης εκείνη την περίοδο το 2014 ήταν ο επικοινωνιακός προϊστάμενος της πολιτικής της κυβέρνησης ως κυβερνητικός εκπρόσωπος. Τότε, πρόσθεσε, δεν ντράπηκαν και διοχέτευσαν ένα λεγόμενο, μυστικό έγγραφο, το οποίο ετοίμασαν στο προεδρικό, σε μεγάλη αμερικανική εφημερίδα προσπαθώντας να στρέψουν τα μάτια της διεθνούς κοινής γνώμης σε άλλες παραμέτρους από τις ευθύνες της κυβέρνησης Συναγερμού-Αναστασιάδη για το κούρεμα των καταθέσεων. Μέσα σε εκείνο το έγγραφο, είπε, καταλόγιζαν ευθύνες στη διακυβέρνηση Χριστόφια.
