@Bucknuts99 @CardinalWayne @colewhogan Some ads online hit hard. Referendum vote needs to occurs and build up pressure on feds. As former Quebecer we voted OUI. It was clear then, just as it's clear now having lived it. Need to got to cliff's edge in order for change to even be a possibility x.com/TheRiversEdgeA…

More than 700,000 Albertans signed a petition for a referendum. Disenfranchising those voters won't go over well. Alberta should remain in Canada. Canada should work for Alberta. Denying Albertans a vote is not the way to achieve that.

Canada is an energy superpower and we’re going to lead the world in sustainable energy. That’s why we introduced new measures to cut methane emissions – to drive innovation, bring down pollution, and make Canada more competitive in global energy markets.

🇨🇦230.9¢ per litre in BC tonight. 🔴 Breakdown of what government takes: 💰 Provincial fuel tax: 13.5¢ 💰 TransLink tax: 18.5¢ 💰 Clean Fuel levy: ~8¢ 💰 GST on ALL of the above: ~10.5¢ ~52¢ per litre. Pure government. Before you move an inch. And Carney says he's "saving you at the pump." 🍁 #CdnPoli #GasPrices #BC

@DJ_Tao Now just imagine if the IRGC had a couple of longer range nuclear missiles by the end of this year or next .... amazing what smart scientists do when they and their families are pressured and fear for their lives .... that would have been a hell of a game changer!

🇨🇦 Canada just quietly hopped on the HIMARS train. With zero public announcement, Ottawa got added to a massive $1.1 billion U.S. contract with Lockheed Martin for M142 HIMARS rocket systems. 17 launchers are being built by 2028, and Canada is one of the buyers (they originally wanted up to 26). After years of dragging its feet on military modernization, Canada is finally getting one of the most lethal and battle-proven long-range artillery systems out there. Quietly going big on HIMARS. Interesting move. Source: CBC News Media: Archive footage

@PhotiosM @ShannonJean Yep. Probably fixable but dump the Rs and cover most of the cost of a repower with a good offshore motor. Hondas if you want to run a zillion hours.

Someone had a chance to own a $400,000 offshore boat for pennies on the dollar, and blew it by not paying for it. Now the U.S. Treasury Dept is giving the rest of us a second shot. I'll put the link in the comments for you.
Shannon Jean@ShannonJean

I'm not suggesting you buy a boat. But if you must, at least buy it at a U.S. Treasury Auction! I'll drop the link in the comments so you can start convincing your spouse about how much money you will be saving.

450Rs are a racing engine. Less reliable and just not necessary if you want to take this way offshore to fish. Also 4x450 is over rated HP for this boat. You are only gonna miss a couple mph on the very top but a 300 or 350 will go thousands of hours without needing anything but regular maintenance. 450R is a high strung performance motor. Think Ferrari vs small block Chevy

The timing of my most recent interview with U.S Ambassador Pete Hoekstra… wow. We discussed what’s really going on in these trade talks, Carney’s recent speech at Davos and the Liberal Convention, Middle Powers, Iran, and so much more. If you aren’t already following The Jasmin Laine Show on YouTube, Rumble, Spotify and everywhere else you listen to podcasts—you might want to start. Episode coming soon… Thank you @usembassyottawa & @USAmbCanada for the opportunity and a deeply insightful conversation.

🚨PESTON CALLS KEIR STARMER’S BLUFF OVER HIS ATTACK BLAMING TRUMP FOR UK ENERGY BILLS 🔥 Prime Minister Caught Red Handed After Publicly Blaming Trump For Soaring UK Bills 🤔 Yesterday Keir Starmer stood up and openly blamed Donald Trump for Britain’s crippling energy price rises, telling ITV he was “fed up” with families and businesses seeing bills go up and down because of the actions of Trump. Today in Qatar, Robert Peston called his bluff and pressed him hard, straight to his face. “Yesterday you told ITV News you’re fed up with energy bills going up because of actions taken by Putin and Trump. Did you take it up with Trump when you spoke to him?” Starmer’s slippery, weasely answer said it all. He didn’t say a f*cking thing to Trump about the bills. Not one word. Instead he pivoted straight to some UK-led coalition waffle about pulling together 30 countries for a diplomatic and military plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. What a monumental fraud and national embarrassment this man is.

🚨STARMER BLASTS TRUMP: IT’S TRUMP’S FAULT UK FAMILIES HAVE SKY HIGH ENERGY BILLS! 😳 Prime Minister Points Finger Directly At Us President For Punishing British Households With Wild And Soaring Price Swings Whoa! Keir Starmer has taken the gloves off completely and is now openly blaming President Donald Trump, alongside Putin, for the sky-high and fluctuating energy bills hammering UK families and businesses. Speaking during his Gulf visit as oil prices surged above $110 a barrel amid escalating Middle East tensions and Trump’s strong rhetoric, the Prime Minister unleashed his frustration at global leaders he claims are causing the chaos. “I’m fed up with the fact that families across the country see their bills go up and down on energy, businesses bills go up and down on energy because of the actions of Putin or Trump across the world,” Starmer declared. This provocative swipe escalates transatlantic tensions, but critics are pointing to Starmer’s net zero obsession, refusal to allow new North Sea drilling, and heavy green taxes have left Britain dangerously reliant on volatile imports, making UK energy prices among the highest in the world regardless of international events.

@Cameron_Parke @Christo39775311 The question that should be asked is the reverse ... If Alberta was on it's own, what would be the reasons to join Canada?

"Conservative" does not imply Alberta conservative. Look at Doug Ford who suggested Carney should usurp Alberta provincial jurisdiction with respect to using O&G as a weapon against US trade talks. Regardless of where the conservative leader comes from, their desire to remain in power requires them to prioritize Quebec and Ontario demands over Alberta. It's simple math. Also look at the math with respect to how often conservatives run Canada vs Liberals throughout the history of Canada.

Monte Solberg provided reasons why Alberta should stay in Canada in his article "The Case for Canada". Let's have a look. Reason 1. Alberta has thrived economically inside Canada, not despite it. What federal regulation or tax policy in the last decade plus demonstrates this? Has the following helped Alberta? • Bill C-48 (Oil Tanker Moratorium Act) • Bill C-69 (Impact Assessment Act / Canadian Energy Regulator Act, often called the “No More Pipelines Act”) • Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (federal carbon tax / backstop) • Oil and Gas Sector Greenhouse Gas Emissions Cap Regulations • Clean Electricity Regulations (under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act) Reason 2. Trudeau's era was damaging but not typical — he is now gone. Mark Carney was Trudeau's advisor. Different face, same brain running Canada. Continuity of anti-energy policy is the new normal, not an aberration. Reason 3. Federal-provincial cooperation has delivered real benefits. If there's legitimate cooperation, why is the majority of our trade North / South and why does it seem less restrictive than East-West? In the last 11 years it has been one-sided obstruction, not partnership. Past "wins" do not excuse current sabotage of over $500 billion in lost investment. Reason 4. Equalization and taxes aren't grounds to leave — Albertans still pay less in total taxes. Federal tax enslavement is no grounds to stay. Alberta’s massive net contribution ($600+ billion in equalization alone) funds other provinces while receiving regulatory punishment in return. Low provincial taxes is a reflection on Alberta, not Canada. If you are going to compare federal taxes, you compare it to our closest neighbour, America, where they have lower income tax rates and zero sales tax. Reason 5. Unity brings strength, especially against external threats. Unity has delivered weakness on pipelines, energy markets, and resource development. External threats only rear their ugly head when the federal government attempts to artificially stimulate or protect industries in central Canada such as dairy, auto, etc which causes retaliatory impacts on Western Canada. Reason 6. Canada offers warmth, decency, shared experiences and national identity. There is nothing warm or decent about DEI. How warm is MAID? What is warm or decent about federal policies that treat Alberta’s core industries as a national problem to be managed or phased out? Reason 7. Alberta succeeds by engaging outward, not retreating into separation. History shows Alberta has limited influence inside Canada. Alberta is structurally underrepresented in the House of Commons and Senate. Distance from Ottawa plus bilingualism requirements restrict Alberta participation in all forms of government roles. Blanket Ottawa-driven federal policies will never prioritize Alberta. To maintain power, federal politicians must cater to Quebec and Ontario. Decentralized governance always has a stronger track record of responsiveness compared to centrslized federal controls. open.substack.com/pub/theline/p/…

Were Canada to ban floor crossing, we would be suppressing the individual minds of those we elect, and further concentrating power in party leaders. As things stand now, floor crossing protects independence and keeps pressure on leaders to treat their colleagues well lest they watch those colleagues head elsewhere. Floor crossing – and the threat of it – protects us from a system where those we elect turn into mindless drones serving nothing more than the centralized will of ‘the leader.’
