@gofishh77 Backing in is mainly about safety for me. When you finish a drive, your sense are tuned in as opposed to when you start a drive. So being able to drive out “forward” is the safer option, especially when there are neighbors and children who walk the neighborhood.

If my HOA banned “backing into spaces” we would have a huge problem. There’s no way they are telling me how to park my car. Reasons people hate them.

@J_master_caster A couple years is not a large enough sample yet; even so I have seen anecdotal evidence that fatigue and skepticism is setting in. I would argue he’s not fully delivering if he promises generational storms every week that don’t hit. There’s plenty of misinformation out there.

If YouTube weather was around on 4/27/11 this is exactly what I would expect to see for a generational event. The problem is this messaging is used EVERY SINGLE TIME. If every event is exceptional or “not good” or “no way” then nothing is. And one day people will tune it out.

@Pichicato809 To get attention on youtube you do have to do somewhat exaggerated titles or thumbnails, but not to this extent. “This has never happened before.” is literally just fear mongering that I don’t think can really be justified.

Do people genuinely think this type of graphics and video titles is alright? Not including the name of the creator but I think most know who he is.

I'll start a discussion on this, and I invite your thoughts! I think YouTubers should never tell someone explicitly to "drive away" from a tornado because we cannot assume that everyone is A) watching live and not delayed, and B) cognizant of what *we* know about the storm.

If you a creator and you want to come storm chasing, be careful who you choose. I can confirm with the ear popping they felt plus wind pushing the car they drove dirrectly into a tornado and this could have been wayyyyy worse.

NEW: A 20-year-old woman went blind after wearing contact lenses in the shower during a trip to the Dominican Republic. Grace Jamison was exposed to tap water containing a microscopic parasite which got trapped under her lenses and embedded into her corneas, causing a severe infection. She was initially misdiagnosed and given steroid drops that made it worse. Within one week, she lost all vision in both eyes. After the correct diagnosis, she began intensive anti-parasitic treatment with eye drops every 30-60 minutes. The treatment is expected to last 6 months to a year. She has now regained partial vision in her left eye only. Never expose contact lenses to any water. This is brutal.
