@DeathyDL I think draft will eventually contribute towards a toxic ecosystem because it creates expectations that most people aren’t willing to fulfill. Instead of the system attempting to create a composition you will just get a full team of gun carries instead. Also remove two high prio.

Agree, except on the draft point - draft will be good and from the perspective of people grinding the game a ton it makes sense, but atm I don't think draft should be a priority and I also think ppl overestimate the ability of teammates to pick the right heroes

@PowersBloodbag @DeathyDL Literally how? It would have to be so messed up for people to give up on the game. People aren’t giving up on the game and we’ve had some of the worst metas back to back. Just reuse dota 2 draft and you’ll be fine.

League of Legends is a lot harder than Deadlock. In fact, I no longer think it’s comparable. I don’t think it CAN be comparable with Deadlock’s current systems. That’s not to say that DL is an easy game at all bt! I still think Deadlock’s mechanical ceiling COMPLETELY blows League’s out of the water, and the macro aspect isn’t too far behind League’s either. However, n of that matters when the game holds your hand by injecting a gold-hack onto your account as a reward for getting your back absolutely blown out in lane. My sudden jump in opinion between games comes down to literally 1 factor. Punishment. In LoL, snowballing and the ability to 1v9 carry off of winning lane has been massively toned down over the years. It’s actually basically nonexistent today compared to 10 seasons ago, where you’d land 2 solokills on good wavestates toplane and be 4 levels up on the lobby 10 minutes later. However, there’s still a significant degree of punishment you’ll face from making stupid mistakes in lane. Make consecutive mistakes in lane and you can outright ruin your entire game, nearly irreparably. Deadlock in it’s current state is basically the polar opposite lol. Sometimes, you can actually die 4-5+ times in lane and only be marginally behind (sometimes even if your team gets the comeback urns) 10 minutes later. I think it’s a combination of comeback mechanics being WAY too strong and a lack of a 3rd neutral objective. Obviously, it’s also cause of a general lack of coordination resulting in more throws, but this is an unfixable problem. I also do think the souls system makes snowball very tricky to balance, since gold and exp are combined into 1 resource. Making snowball a tiny bit higher can tip the scales and make mid-game demons (Mina Celeste Yamato Apollo etc) completely thanos exodia overpowered, they are already strong af LMAO. I’d honestly like to see a non-money related neutral objective (LoL dragon soul equivalent) put into DL before nerfing comeback souls. OBVIOUS DISCLAIMER: All of this is subject to change since DL still isn’t complete. But, as of now, I just don’t think DL is punishing enough to compare to LoL in difficulty.

@glucklubster @Grezzirossi @boodstarz People don’t get that certain characters have to be shot callers. Lash, pocket, dynamo, any hero with a team fight ult. If you have no mic you should not play these heroes, your team can’t read your mind. Pings are just not enough.

@glucklubster @Grezzirossi @boodstarz This is absolutely the case in phantom+ games. Lower ranks is pretty bad though. What people don’t understand is that to actually improve at the game you have to comm. It is like the third most important skill in the game and for some characters it’s needed.

@boodstarz If you cannot talk you will not win. I swear you are more likely to win games where people talk than when everyone is saying nothing. Once you get out of shitlo people don’t care about how you sound just if you’re good at the game or not.

I don't think that misandry is real (like racism against white people). However, I do think that in our push for equality and accountability, the way we talk about men in general is going to need to shift and evolve. Some of the old habits are aging horribly.
