CINQUE SEMPLICI PUNTI.
1) Ben Gvir è un personaggio squallido e, come ha detto il Presidente Mattarella, infimo.
Su questo non c’è- né a nostro avviso ci può essere - nessuna ambiguità. Personaggi come lui non fanno altro che danneggiare, e in modo pesante, la causa e l’immagine di Israele.
2) il fatto che quell’individuo non rappresenti il governo israeliano è dimostrato, per chi avesse ancora dubbi, dalla durissima dichiarazione del ministro degli Esteri israeliano e da quella, altrettanto chiara, del Primo Ministro Netanyahu.
3) il punto precedente - fateci caso - è sistematicamente trascurato e ignorato dalla polemica italiana di queste ore. Come se non esistesse. Mi chiedo il perché.
4) certo, Israele è e rimane una liberal-democrazia.
Lo dimostra il fatto che tra poche settimane il popolo israeliano sarà chiamato a libere elezioni, nelle quali io spero che i partiti rappresentati da Smotrich e Ben Gvir prendano una sonora lezione. Un “lusso”, quello di lasciare che il popolo si esprima liberamente (sia nelle urne che tutti i giorni), che non esiste in molti paesi di quella parte del mondo. Dove gli oppositori politici vengono messi a morte.
4) gli attivisti della Flottilla hanno il pieno diritto di manifestare in modo pacifico, così come Israele ha il diritto di respingerli (sarebbe stato meglio farlo nelle proprie acque territoriali, o nelle immediatissime vicinanze).
5) la stessa libertà - sacrosanta - di cui godono loro nella manifestazione pacifica della loro opinione, è concessa anche a chi (tra cui il sottoscritto) ha il diritto di pensare che a nessuno di quegli attivisti freghi un accidente dei “bambini di Gaza”: sono solo accecati dall’odio ideologico verso Israele, nulla di più.
