David Bowie had gone to a private showing of his 1987 movie Labyrinth. Afterward, he’d have a meet-and-greet with a group of children. He met them and had a ball, but one boy was shy and withdrawn. So Bowie asked the organizers of the event if he could talk to the boy by himself, seeing as though he was “so shy." The kid wasn’t actually shy — he was autistic. It just so happened the mask was ‘invisible.’ He gave it to the boy. He then acted rather distressed himself and had to make another magic mask, after which he became calm, too. Bowie and the kid just hung out for thirty minutes, and it was a magical experience. The boy later said he actually felt more confident after meeting David Bowie and receiving his “magic mask." Bowie reminded the boy of how ‘everyone is shy and scared sometimes, and we all wear masks’. I realize more and more that there is such a thing as dumb person in life. “Turn off the lights and vision fails, LiDAR keeps working” may sound logical in theory, but the Waymo SF power outage really just disproved it. During the recent San Francisco power outage, Waymo’s entire LiDAR-heavy robotaxi fleet went offline. Literally the entire fleet just stopped operating. Meanwhile, all Tesla Robotaxis kept running! Tesla’s vision-based system is trained on billions of miles, neural nets, and, most importantly, doesn’t require a city to be perfectly powered to function. An alien UFO could land in the middle of nowhere with the entire city blacked out and it will still work. Humans don’t drive with lasers. We drive with our eyes, we process what we see with our brain, and then we react with our body. Tesla does the same thing, except the brain is AI, trained on billions of real-world miles. Tesla’s Vision system learns the world as it is, adapts in real time, and improves continuously and is NOT dependent on special maps, perfect lighting, or city-by-city infrastructure like LiDAR. That’s why it scales. With a simple software update, Tesla’s Vision AI can operate anywhere instead of just where the environment was pre-approved or carefully controlled like LiDAR. This is how generalized real-world autonomy gets solved. I believe this will be obvious in hindsight.

@Destiny2Team DUDE just make the top 10% scores achievable at ALL LEVELS! This change does nothing to help the players that are trying to get back to into the game (mind you after quitting due to YOUR EOF MISTAKES!), it just is a slap in the face to the vast majority of the playerbase

We've deployed a live update that introduces the following changes. - Tuned scoring so that the lower Power you are, the more of a boost you will get to your Call to Arms score to offset the score impact of Power. -- We expect this to mitigate most but not all of the advantage that Power currently conveys. This should broaden the competition by elevating players who can quickly complete activities with difficult modifiers while still giving high Power players an edge. -- For example, with the right activity modifiers, a 300 Power player playing on Master difficulty could earn what is comparable to a Top 30% score today and a 400 Power player playing on Grandmaster difficulty could earn what is comparable to a Top 10% score today. -- Note: For players under 550 Power, be aware that your Call to Arms score will not exactly match your Portal Reward score. - Changed Boons to add 0 red triangles. Players will be able to choose any Boon without impacting their overall score. - Changed all gear player stakes to add 5 green triangles in Call to Arms activities, matching "All Bows". Our goal is to give players the opportunity for more variety in selecting modifiers during this competition. - Removed the Protected modifier (those pesky drones) from all Call to Arms activities.
