@DrDiGiorgio A few weeks ago my wife was very sick and had to go to Urgent Care. She used insurance, not realizing it was out of network. We got a bill for ~$500. I flipped out, called, and voided the claim. The bill was reduced to $91. Blows my mind medicine isn't cash based.

This is a terrible idea. Free primary care for all sounds great until you remember that free never means free. It means the bill moves from the exam room to taxes and new bureaucracy hired to ration what politicians just promised was unlimited. If car insurance covered tires at zero cost, demand would explode. People who truly needed tires would wait behind people getting upgrades because why not, it is free. Then the government would demand forms, approvals, documentation, denials, appeals, and entire departments to manage the mess. More primary care visits do not automatically mean better health just as free tires don’t reduce car accidents. More spending does not automatically mean better care. And making primary care “free” does not make doctors, nurses, clinic space, time, or judgment magically materialize out of the ether. It just removes price signals, politicizes what counts as essential, invites every interest group to lobby for inclusion, and leaves patients and physicians trapped under another layer of central planning. If you want universal access for primary care, which I do, then just people the money. Primary care visits are cheap and the median American will spend less on those than on food. We have food stamps for the latter, so let’s make a type of food stamps for healthcare. Let patients and doctors decide what care is actually worth it for that individual instead of creating yet another government promise that doesn’t work out.

@MensHumor I was "Normal" until my then one-year old son gouged me in my right eye. Now I see lines on lights out of my right eye. For those are wondering, my eye and vision healed like 99%. I only see lines when my left eye is closed.

@Budgetdog_ @TMZ I had very mild mold in my HVAC. Was possible to clean out with normal cleaning agents & installing a UV Light. Back to normal pretty easily. What you went through is absolutely no joke, and there are others in the same boat. You really took care of your family.

We lost our home last year due to mold/mycotoxins. It’s interesting how people treat you just because you have money. Sure, you may have money to not be destitute but it’s very tough for a family to go through losing everything regardless. People dehumanize the wealthy and it’s sad. Maybe broke people are more “evil” than rich people, eh?

Spencer Pratt has gained traction in his campaign for L.A. Mayor by showing what he says Karen Bass did to his family -- forcing them to live in a trailer after his home burned down. Though, Pratt has really been staying at the Hotel Bel-Air for more than a month. Mind you, you can't get a room for less than $1,500 a night.

@TraditionSarah @BadgedPatriot Agreed. I did the same. They really will help walk you through what coverage you need, what you don't, and where you could save money. They teach you about the policies, too.

@BadgedPatriot Best thing we did was hire a broker (who was also a close family friend). Got literally 500k more in coverages for the same price we were paying and got an umbrella policy for less than a tank of gas as well.

Anyone studied their homeowners insurance? I did because my rate went up. On my policy under additional coverages I got bed bugs,credit card forgery & counterfeit money, locks & remote devices, all $1K. Why do I need bed bug protection for my own home? Am I gettin ripped off😳

@randomrecruiter @401Casey I come from a utliity/large company background. In December, I started a job with a small engineering firm with hopes to grow the team. The culture mismatch was so strong, it was felt the second week. I quit within three months.

@401Casey This is why culture fit actually matters. I.e hard for a swe in healthcare to catch up in finance, or a bloated big tech org to a startup

If you’re ambitious I’d highly recommend working in an organization or a team where people have your similar sense of urgency or you will slowly go insane
