A wee update to say I'll be hanging up my notepad from today, about 19 years after following my dad into journalism. The last couple at The Scotsman have been a real highlight, working with a great team and the best editors. Sad to leave but looking forward to a new challenge.

This is thuggery from Trump and Vance, plain and simple. They are bullying the brave true patriot Zelensky into accepting a deal which effectively hands victory to Russia. Unless the UK and Europe step up, we are facing a betrayal of Ukraine.

Trump and Zelenskyy were supposed to do a press conference side by side. That has been cancelled and Fox News is reporting that Trump told Zelenskyy to leave the White House after the episode in the Oval Office. Putin and the Kremlin will be utterly delighted.
