🇺🇸HOT ROTISSERIE CHICKEN ACT INTRODUCED IN THE SENATE Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is pushing to modernize SNAP rules that currently block hot prepared foods like ready-to-eat meals from being bought with benefits. The bill would add "hot rotisserie chicken" as an amendment to the 2008 Food and Nutrition Act. It would not change SNAP eligibility nor funding nor add any other hot prepared foods. It's literally just adding hot rotisserie chicken as a EBT-eligible purchase.

I didn’t like USAID. But watching people gleefully mock a woman for having to start over at ~60 is bleak. You can disagree with someone’s politics without losing basic empathy. The internet has broken a lot of brains.

There’s a very big difference between a man helping with his own children vs hiring a man to be around children alone. Not all men are predators (obviously) but a grown man who wants to be hired to babysit? Sorry, not trusting that for a second 🤷🏻‍♀️ @maryarchived is right.
alexandriabrown@alexthechick

Why can't we get men to help with children? Because of the rational fear by those men that beings like this will call them predators.

UPDATE: Chris Ostroushko says that the backlash his family has been receiving for their actions last weekend has been “overwhelming” and “nonstop” He’s now “second guessing” living in the United States, because he’s unhappy with how negatively the public has reacted to him assaulting a woman on camera. He is in complete disbelief, stating that, "I've never had anything like this happen in my life". Chris and Deyanna have been going on a press tour continuing to assert that they are the real victims, despite millions watching the footage of them instigating everything. There is also a GoFundMe for them, where they are currently trying to raise $8k, stating that they’ve lost their jobs and, “are facing one of the most overwhelming and life-altering moments they have ever experienced”. The family has still taken zero accountability for any of the violence they committed and are in complete shock that they are facing consequences for their actions. Last week Chris also did an interview where he lied, stating that his family is “absolutely not violent" and that all he did was "stay back and watch" everything, despite being on camera shoving me multiple times.

lots of strange reactions to this game. let’s clear some things up: childless men do not have paternal instincts the way that childless women have maternal instincts (we observe this even in the way little girls play vs. little boys). men first experience paternal instincts once they have their own children - and typically, those paternal instincts are only ever felt for their own children, and no one else’s. men are not nurturers. men don’t gush over cute kids in public. men don’t have baby fever. if a man wants to possess a child for any reason other than it being a product of his own lineage, he is likely a predator. and you’d be taking the feminist/radical gender abolitionist position to protest any of the above points. this should explain why a “dad simulator” game marketed to mostly childless men gives people the creeps.

Note the subtext is that @paleochristcon is arguing that society should be able to *compel* aka *force* women to have kids. He is presuming that the bottleneck is women, though men’s behavior significantly influences women’s ability to have children or not. In society today, it is considered a given, according to men themselves, that it is women who seek commitment and men who try to avoid it, suggesting men are the bottleneck and main impediment to getting birth rates up. So why not focus on compelling men to have kids instead? That he doesn’t suggests that the real motive is pretext for oppressing women. x.com/jakerattlesnk/…

Rich people already have an equivalent of a universal basic income. They don’t work for their money. They can sit around and collect on their passive investments. Any work they do is optional and for personal enjoyment. They seem to do okay.
