Nate Oats on mid-majors claiming to be unable to find high-level matchups: “Not sure how hard you try if you're playing three non Division I games.” Oats said Alabama would schedule any mid-major as long as they are good enough, and that all he cares about is avoiding Q4 games.

THIS IS MARCH

With NIL/portal hurting the mid-majors, it’s even more detrimental for Cinderella when the regular season champion gets upset in the conference tournament. Liberty, Belmont, Navy all won their leagues by 3+ games. UNC Wilmington went 26-6. All failed to win their conference tournaments. If mid-majors are going to continue to send their conference tournament champions to the NCAA Tournament, they need to give the regular season champions byes to the semifinals.

It’s official: no wins by a 13–16 seed for the second straight year. The last time that happened before 2025 was in 2017. The only "upsets" today were two 9 seeds over 8 seeds, both of which were favored by Vegas. I fear it is a second straight year of Chalk Madness.
