@rcb05 It’ll be like the women’s tournament soon… all the talent is getting money-sucked to the top.

14 of the 32 first round NCAA Tournament games were won by 20+ points. Only 4 of the 28 double digit seeds pulled off an upset. Obviously there were some great moments, but as a whole, this year’s first round definitely fell a bit flat.

@BryanDFischer I mean their non-con schedule is pretty good as far as no real crap teams this year… didn’t check out last years.

@JaretGold Another retarded “college basketball fan” trying to ruin 10 days of games that are better than March Madness to “fix” March Madness.

My solution to fix March Madness? Actually get the best mid-major teams in the tournament. 18-11 Penn got in over 24-5 Yale 24-10 Hofstra got in over 26-5 UNCW 17-17 Lehigh got in over 26-6 Navy Mid-majors should give the regular season champ the bid

@GOrwell2020 @EsotericCD The ball wasn’t live… Kentucky guy picked ball up in the court of play and was headed to end line when Sendek was calling timeout…. That’s not a live play.. clock stops after made basket for this reason. Retard.

@PoopCityBitches @EsotericCD What the fuck are you talking about, idiot? Herb Sendik tried to call timeout while the play was live, which cannot be done… There is no controversy in that unreal ending. Go back to being miserable somewhere else

Honestly, if you wanna do March madness - go to a women’s game. The basketball is fantastic, the atmosphere is great, and it’s only $25 for a ticket.

@SethDavisHoops Yeah… paying people who personally don’t really move the needle for promoting your product but they are tied to a university that moves the needle would’ve avoided this mess. If you didn’t get a job because of your dad 30 years ago we might not see these retarded tweets.

I love seeing college athletes in commercials. If the NCAA had let them do that 20 years ago we might not be in the mess we're in.

@GOrwell2020 @EsotericCD The TCU game I saw the guy making the game winning basket after standing in the lane for 8 seconds… the Kentucky game I saw a guy take four steps without a dribble before making a pass on a decisive fast break and a coach denied a timeout… even “excitement” is depressing.

I don’t think back-to-back years of little to no upsets in the first round is worth freaking out over. Could it be NIL? Maybe. Or maybe it’s just something that can happen in a small sample size. Saint Peter’s went to the Elite 8 three years ago. Let’s relax.

People will probably run with the "chalk madness" narrative and I get it. But there were at least 8 or 9 games this year that were a possession or two away from being generational upsets. I don't think that this is an NIL problem necessarily, but just a side effect of us being spoiled in 2021 and 2023.
College Basketball Report@CBKReport

It’s official: no wins by a 13–16 seed for the second straight year. The last time that happened before 2025 was in 2017. The only "upsets" today were two 9 seeds over 8 seeds, both of which were favored by Vegas. I fear it is a second straight year of Chalk Madness.

With all the chatter about what NIL/portal has done to Cinderellas, the real story is that there is more separation between the top teams vs. the middle/bottom INSIDE the power conferences. Which is odd because the opposite seems to be happening in football.

@KevinIsHere1919 @BeardNeptune @JackMac It’s exactly what I’m saying. These players would have no value if they weren’t playing at a university. If the NBA said you had to go play in this “minor league” for a year before getting drafted nobody would buy tickets to see a team from Ames play a team from Tucson.

As you realize the college sports you grew up with doesn’t exist anymore, it hits you that it may have all been a facade. The reason these teams below existed was largely to players being exploited with no ability to make money & punished for transferring. NIL introduced….cream rises to the top. In 2012 a guy who fell through the cracks in recruiting would spend 4 years at a mid major and develop there…not anymore. 80% of those players trickle up to make the major conference teams that were losing in 2008 better in 2026. College sports was prob better in 2010 but it was due to a model that unequivocally ripped off athletes. I am open to being wrong here, but the game has changed forever and what we watched years ago was fake.

Have seen a few people asking why Nate Burleson is CBS March Madness studio host. Ernie Johnson asked to step back from some of the dates in the role. CBS is testing to see if Burleson could eventually replace James Brown as NFL Today host.
