@ArchieStanding Demands of the game has changed. Players of today are faster and more robust. They are executing highly technical and tactical actions in such small amounts of time...and then the number of games...

Has anyone else noticed how much football has changed over the last 15 years. We all cry out for guarantees. Whether that’s a player coming in or even a manager. The truth is, you could spend hours looking at players and managers available these days to be a “needle mover” and actually the pool for both is incredibly small. Take managers as an example. There was an era when it was Pep, Ancelotti, Mourinho, Klopp etc. Names that every club would want instantly. These “elite” managers are few and far between. There is now a crop of younger, talented, less refined managers coming through who aren’t quite at that level yet. Cesc, Alonso, Areola, Glasner, Felipe Luis. It’s the new crop who simply haven’t been around long enough to have a perfect CV. Same applies to the players. There was an era where they were players who would guarantee success. It seems now that all the “elite” players actually aren’t that elite. Look at the “Top” CB’s list below. These guys aren’t elite. Some of them are good but none of them make it into the “hall of fame of CB’s” The truth is a lot of them are young and very unproven. We aren’t in a golden era of football. We are in a transition phase where there is an abundance of very talented managers and players coming through and that’s why it’s kind of a gamble for clubs. Gone are the days where you can just go out and buy ready made options. There is an element of luck needed. Who is the next Mourinho? Who is the next Pep? Who is the next Terry? Who is the next Maldini? I don’t look at that list below and see elite players. We grew up in an era where teams were stacked with WC players. These players simply don’t exist as we once knew it. This summer is Chelsea’s last roll of the dice. Do we hit the jackpot or do we make the wrong choice again….

It does stagger me that people still think Alonso, Enrique, Nagelsmann - the coaches we should be looking at - are going to come here "because we're Chelsea". Sadly not. Alonso is an outside bet, if Liverpool don't come for him, but still unlikely.

@ExpectedChelsea Its the same context. Manager gets sacked. Some players have huge emotional attachment to sacked manager. 08 squad kept it professional and kept going despite the new manager being a rookie yes man. 26 squad downed tools and actively sabotaged the new manager.

I'm actually not surprised by how Enzo has acted in the past few months. This is a player who has been exposed to an extremely high level of coaches - Poch, Scaloni, Schmidt, Maresca, Gallardo, you name it. You can't expect him to take Rosenior seriously.

@Bluecoxtra Everyone has forgotten Maresca changed agents in the summer. Before Levi did his Acl. Must be a coincidence that City's current SD is also a Mendes client. Managers always complain about recruitment. They don't walk in the middle of the season because of it

To me, Maresca’s Chelsea situation unravelled for two main reasons: 1️⃣ Recruitment frustrations 2️⃣ Interest from Man City Maresca informed Chelsea’s hierarchy that he had twice ✌️ spoken with figures at City about potentially succeeding Guardiola, despite being under contract.

Two days ago, they introduced a guy to me who wanted to sell his muscle Camry for 3M. He bought it for 11M last year October, so I asked him why he was selling it so cheap. He said he’s basically homeless and can’t afford basic things anymore. According to him, he sold all his properties just to “declutter,” and that the car is the only thing he has left. But later, I heard from one of his friends that the money he got from selling all those properties was actually being spent on drugs🚭 🥲. And now it seems he’s finally come to his senses. He’s planning to sell the car too and start his life afresh. So I advised him to consider doing Uber, but he said he can’t because people already know him as a “big man,” and it would be too shameful for him. He then asked me to help find a buyer, but honestly, I don’t want to get involved. A car worth 11M being sold for 3M? Nah.

The reason IRAN's IRGC is still talking during this war and frankly while it's lasted this long is because the USA is leading the operation, not Israel. If Israel was leading it, they'd have shot up the whole place. The USA is exercising restraint because of civilians and some idiots are calling it "weak".

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

If someone argues that a former promiscuous woman is "damaged goods" and questions whether a Christian young man should marry her, remember Rahab. She was a Canaanite prostitute but became a mother in the lineage of Jesus. God redeemed her, cleansed her, and Salmon married her.
