@TracketPacer To be fair, electrical work is still a heavily male-dominated field, so most people commenting on a wiring video are statistically going to be men. I suspect the strong reactions are more about the copper-clad aluminum debate than about you personally.

@kosa12m I'm biased, I had to rename over 600 ebooks after my importer made a mess of the filenames. Bulk Rename Utility saved my ass and did exactly what I wanted with a live preview.

@kosa12m Mid take, the grep command needs to be prepared in advance, will 100% rename your files wrong the first two times and only then works. At least with this I can SEE all the damn parameters I can append without having to reference a manual.

@pcgamer wrong. it looks like ai slop. everything has the same fake sheen, lit from too many angles, trying too hard to look real and failing to look soft, stripping the games of their art direction and making the characters look like ai porn adverts.

@HardwareUnboxed No they do not need to prove anything. If a developer chooses to implement this, then that's their choice and intent. This AI bandwagon outrage at every opportunity must be exhausting

So developers can choose the level of Instagram model filter they apply to faces, but what if the DLSS 5 unified model can only generate an Instagram face? Nvidia needs to PROVE that the technology is capable of maintaining the style of a game, which their examples haven't done - hence the backlash

Why are Nvidia claiming developers have full control over the artistic intent of DLSS 5 output when it uses a unified model that isn't trained per game? Surely this would mean DLSS 5 output would converge to the same type of visuals across games, removing artistic intent/touch. Just as we see from current gen AI tools Giving developers true, full artistic control would surely mean having specific models for each game trained only on that studio's assets?

@HardwareUnboxed Is it not th developers choice to implement DLSS 5? And the reproducible output,the developer getting the same results as the player? I see it similar to the Master Chief collection having a toggle for the remastered visuals.

@SiddhantSadangi @nb4ld @duolingo Users have consented to the terms and conditions when signing up for that service. In those terms and conditions are already terms that will lead to the closing/deletion of your account. GDPR just dictates that inactivity is one of them.

@SiddhantSadangi @nb4ld @duolingo Not the point. For the business it's an automated process to just delete old account data once the last login time is high enough. One automated process to cover millions of users. Given that companies have shown that they can't be trusted with safekeeping, this is the safe bet.

For the vast majority of people it's just practical to have automatic off-site backups, bc they would never do it otherwise.

repairing my pc and microsoft gave me hope that there was an easy fix - but no, they consider not having onedrive in my start menu a system 'corruption', lmao.

@Capitalists1776 @MakoFukasame The only thing breaking this is if you do the "typical tech influencer BS" of forcing a local account after setting it up with a MS account and syncinc your files.

@Capitalists1776 @MakoFukasame These are your options for onedrive in the context menu. And even then, it doesn't get deleted, it just gets linked as a "on demand" file that gets downloaded immediatly when you try to open it.

@Capitalists1776 @MakoFukasame But in todays age where the understanding of file systems and directories is arcane knowledge, I am not too surprised that people struggle with this.

@Capitalists1776 @MakoFukasame For that reason I am not syncing my desktop or download folder, because those tend to be messy by nature. My documents are sorted, my images are sorted and so are my other folders (config files and eBooks).
