Today marks the 3 year anniversary of Prismic's Avatar Search on #VRChat! A lot happened for @VRChat over the past year that's helped in developing out the world further (binary data loading, persistence, creator economy, avatar marketplace), and hoping 2026 continues the trend!

@Glen_Bixley Avatars can't kick you to a private instance. At most they might crash you which closes the game. Are you sure it wasn't a kick from the instance owner or other players?

@Prismic247 I found a Avatar on your Avatar serch. When I tried it, I was kicked and imediatly taken to a private instance. The Cosmos Broadcaster/fluffy By Error_Eclipse

@Superiorfoxfan I'm unaware of any recent bans (which are already exceedingly rare), and from your other statements this appears to be a connection issue, not a ban one.

Back in early February 2025, Prismic's Avatar Search passed 100 million visits. Today, just over 10 months later, it's passed 200 million. Averaging 10 million visits a month is insane. I'm glad it's become such a helpful and integral part of the VRChat experience for so many!

@poiyomi I don't even use my consumables in Skyrim for that same reason, and those don't cost money. Likewise gonna forever sit in the archive collecting dust, since it has higher value in having than in using.

This limited-use stuff is the worst of the worst. I'm just NEVER EVER going to use this thing even though I think it's actually cool because what if I want to use it in the future and don't have uses left. I HATE THIS! I want to make it snow!!!!!!!!!

@digi_the_robot @vr_hai Especially since world's don't have a way to tell who's your friend. Avatars have it, but it would be really useful for things like this, team selection in game worlds, etc.

@vr_hai A solution that is easier than requiring every world to be updated with a prefab

I don't know what's going on but it's been several times in VR where I've been trying to figure out how to reach a room where people were having a conversation, only to realize that I'm at the wrong floor and the conversation was happening upstairs.

@poiyomi The analogy I've used is that I have plenty of contacts on my phone, but while some of them are welcome to come by my home at any time, others I'd prefer to be asked. Lacking that, I'm basically always orange. With that, I'd be more open to adding more people too.

Ok, hear me out. What if there was a purple status right between green and orange. If you're purple then you appear green to people on whatever fave lists you have assigned to purple and orange to everyone else.

@Trywastaken @dtupper @SM4gamings This, but the ability to have different join-ability states for different friend groups. I have plenty of "contacts" in my phone for example, but while some of them are welcome to show up to my house at any time, there's other's I'd rather have ask first. Same in VRC.

@dtupper @SM4gamings I would love to have a feature to have friends instances but for different groups of friends, like theres already a couple different favorite friends lists. would be cool to make an instance specifically for one of those

Guys I get the “why I’m always on orange/red status” bit but if you’re only expecting people to put in the effort to always come see you but never go see them it comes off very one-sided and they will stop trying; at that point if they decide to do a wipe don’t get upset.

@RyRy999000 Thanks for the heads up. I've heard that from a few people today, more than usual (sometimes the database just doesn't download and it can take a day before it just starts working again), so I'm taking a look.

@Prismic247 Hey Prismic, I'm kinda having issues with your game. Everytime I join its stuck on loading android data on the search bar for the avatars. I've tried uninstalling vrchat, and reloading my data on the game but it's stuck. Is it a glitch or a problem on my end?

Prismic's Avatar Search now has Style and Content filters! Select up to two styles to only show results that match. Deselect any content warnings to hide results that have those flags on them. Now with unique icons for each individual filter! #vrchat

@xcoincollectorx It's a neat idea, but probably out of scope for this particular project. That'd play more like a pvp deathrun, and Cube is meant to be a cooperative pve experience. Spook Em' Up and Trash Compactor are probably more in line with that sort of concept if you haven't tried them yet!

youtu.be/51HBb6fLNgw Wanderer blew me away back in 2022, surpassing Alyx as my favorite story driven VR experience. It lacked Alyx's polish, but now that Wanderer's remake has finally made it to Steam, I'm hopeful it'll surpass it entirely. I want more games like this.
