Another sellout. Guys this is getting fucking ridiculous. WHY is every big account getting paid to mention Zcash all of a sudden? This all started with Naval on October 1st. Genuinely insane. Wonder how much the Winklevoss Twins are paying lol.

~30% of all $ZEC is now in the shielded pool, up from 18% in October and 23% in early November. Nearly a third held in privacy-preserving form, akin to Ethereum's ~30% staked ETH. The shielded pool hides transaction details, so as more coins move there, @Zcash becomes harder to trace on-chain and actual privacy usage is surging. Because shielding requires real on-chain actions (not just sitting on an exchange), this signals genuine network activity beyond speculation. The privacy uptake aligns with a big price move: $ZEC jumped from ~$412 on Nov 1 to as high as ~$737 with heavy trading volume. On @coinbase , ZEC briefly became the #2 asset by 24h spot volume (~$345M vs Ethereum’s $288M), showing real spot demand (not just derivatives). 🔏

HTTPS used to be optional. Few used it. Now it’s mandatory, enforced by browsers. That’s why HTTPS succeeded. You can still use HTTP, if you’re willing to skip past the warnings, but most people never do. Mandatory privacy matters. Opt-in privacy has never worked.

Per this article, it seems that RUNE is burned and minted. The protocol does not sell when the loan is reimbursed. medium.com/thorchain/lend… Something like: A) Open/Borrow -> deposit collateral (e.g., $BTC) -> swapped to RUNE -> burn $RUNE -> send $USDT to borrower B) Close/Reimbursed -> send $USDT back -> mint $RUNE -> swap $RUNE to $BTC -> send back collateral There was a 15M buffer (before reaching the 500M threshold) to absorb the price difference between $RUNE and the loaned assets (if more tokens needed to be minted during closure than what was burned during opening) Some protections were supposed to be set against this inflation: a well-managed lending leverage and a circuit breaker Not sure how can we check what the lending leverage was, and whether it was adapted based on the correlation between the price of RUNE and the pool assets? Maybe @block_science knows?
