@YueKuratsu I mean consider what an Athlon 64 FX from 2005 could do compared to a mainframe from 1984. Moore's Law is astounding.

This might be the most dangerous GitHub repo ever published. Someone built a full 10.5 GHz radar system that can track targets up to 20km away and open sourced the entire thing. It ships with: → Complete PCB designs and schematics → FPGA signal processing code → STM32 firmware → Python GUI with map integration → GPS/IMU integration → MIT license (100% free) 6.8k stars on GitHub already This is the kind of project defense contractors would charge you a fortune for. One dev just put it on GitHub.

@h4rly_stesh Yeah, it's not really much of a challenge for this cooling system. This board can handle a 100W chip instead of this 65W 7300, but I'd have to order that, which would defeat the point of this project being from e-waste. But I'm still going to buy an A10-6800K 😉

@Procyon86 Wow, it looks much better. And the A4-7300 has really low heat dissipation, so your water pump is more than good.

My "work" computer, made entirely from e-waste running XFCE Mint. AMD A4-7300, 4Gb of DDR3, a 120gb Intel SATA SSD, and some Dell PSU. I wanted to research swords on my lunch break, but their network restricts them bc weapons, so I used my phone's hotspot and a USB WIFI NIC.

Well, this is fun... My art tablet doesn't want to boot up at all...its just stuck on this screen. I can't access my drawings at all.

@fsos91 Haha it would get too hot without it, but now it's got a custom loop with peltier coolers.

@h4rly_stesh It was. A coworker found a peltier cooler and a water pump, so I modified the stock cooler into a water block and added the socket on top for slightly better cooling until we could hook it up, which we did today.

The e-waste computer has now been liquid cooled! Peltier effect is amazingly effective! We added the juice from two highlighters to the water and pointed a blacklight at it 😀
