This evening, I am in a bar. And I decided to reflect on all the things that my lovely wife does for me and our children. I did a detailed assessment of her role in our lives as a housewife. Frankly speaking, no working class wife can do half of what a kind housewife does. Not because they can't do it, but because they just do not have the time & capacity to do it while they're also chasing money. So, I came to this conclusion: If your wife is a full-time housewife, you're supposed to be the provider 💯. And you should pay her monthly salary asides what you give as monthly upkeep for the home. Just do an honest assessment as a married man with a housewife, and you'd see what I am saying. Especially if you have been married for at least 10 years. Because 10 years is more than enough time to reveal the truth to you. I hope you understand. End.

3 weeks ago, my @Starlink dish that I’ve been using for the past 3 years suddenly went offline. I messaged support and they said it was damaged beyond repair. So I ’ve noticed that whenever my friend comes over and serves food from my pot, I can no longer eat it and I end up throwing the food away. The first time, she visited, we ate semo and egusi, and she wanted more. I told her to serve herself, which she did. That night, I wanted to warm the egusi and noticed it had started foaming. I warmed it anyway, thinking it was due to the hot weather. The next day it turned sour, I had to pour it away. The second time, we cooked village rice together. She dished the food, and by night it had become slimy. I thought it was the locust beans we added, but even after warming it wasn’t edible, so I threw it away. That day, she mentioned she was happy I allowed her cook with me because her mum doesn’t allow her to cook or dish food at home, only noodles that finishes immediately. Last Saturday, I cooked beans and she visited. She dished the beans, and before night it started foaming. I calmly pointed it out, but she felt offended. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but why does my food go bad anytime she serves it? Could that be why her mum doesn’t let her cook at home too?

Unfortunately, many do not pay attention to this as they should. The 500k analysis that I did excludes rents, utility bills, school fees, health, etc. We are in a very precarious situation. 12 years of massive deterioration under the APC government. I just realized a few months ago that, if not because of X revenues, I would have been struggling to save and pay bills alone, despite being amongst the 1% of top 9-5 earners in the country. And I don't live a flamboyant lifestyle. Just basic ways of living, which almost every legitimate human being should live. Realky pathetic.

My husband earns around 800k every month. Out of that, he gives me 200k for feeding and running the house, 60k for the children’s school needs, and another 100k for light bills, medicine, and little unexpected expenses. In total, about 360k comes into the home monthly, while he keeps the rest. Recently, I became curious about our finances and asked him how much he had saved over the years, but he avoided the conversation. Later, I checked and discovered he had about 14M saved. Honestly, after more than three years of work and all the sacrifices we’ve made as a family, I expected it to be much more. What confused me most is that my husband is not someone who spends recklessly. He eats at home most of the time, only buys lunch occasionally at work, and aside from helping family members once in a while and paying the children’s school fees, there’s nothing extravagant he does. When I asked him calmly to explain how the savings were only 14M, the conversation turned into an argument.
