@TheRockOracle1 @ThisDayInMETAL There’s no chance that a thing that has happened in my life has happened? And you find it highly unlikely? Why would I be afraid of somebody’s preference for guitar players??!?
Best of luck to you sir, no point engaging further if you apparently know my life better than I do ✌️

There's no chance you haven't come across many people. Prefer Randy Rhoads to Eddie Van Halen be real or you weren't asking cuz you were afraid to get the answer.
l walked into a gym a few weeks ago and the kid checking people in saw the hat. I was wearing the three guitars of Randy Rhoads. And he asked me what's up with the hat and I said well. Do you know who this is? He says of course it's Randy Rhoads and they said oh, which of the guitars is your favorite? And he says the Jackson. They're the greatest guitars ever made. And then I told him the story of how Randy Rhoads founded Jackson guitars... At the end of the conversation he told me there's a reason. Randy Rhoads is probably more popular among young people now because his music is more timeless and it's age better.
So I find it highly unlikely you haven't come across many people before Randy Rhoads. I see it everyday. You can see it in Van Halen groups where people are talking about Randy being better

On This Day in Metal July 13, 1984
Eddie Van Halen made a surprise guest appearance with Michael Jackson during The Jacksons’ Victory Tour at Texas Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
He stepped onstage to perform the legendary guitar solo for “Beat It,” marking the one and only time these two music icons ever performed the song together live.
A truly unforgettable moment in rock and pop history.

@Jedi179057 @BGNHoops Oh you poor internet child. Threes were not a focus back then. Every team barely shot them. If they were a focus, MJ would have dominated with them too.
Do yourself a favor and stop forming opinions based on social media. Go back and watch some games.
English

@ProfitsOnAPlate @BGNHoops Literally 13% for the 1987-88 season, and 28% for a career from 23-9. garbage outside shot from MJ

@TheRockOracle1 @ThisDayInMETAL Even so, he’s still had nowhere near the impact Edward has. I’ve been a guitar player for over 30 years, not sure I’ve ever come across somebody who prefers RR, as great as he was. EVH changed music forever. Just look at how many people play EVH guitars vs RR guitars.
English

I think people need to start realizing how impactful Randy Rhoads influences you've got kids of all ages playing his music. I mean I come across younger kids and they tell me his music resonates more than Eddie's with them.
I mean maybe at the time but Randy was getting quite the reputation.
English

@TheRockOracle1 @ThisDayInMETAL I don’t think it’s supposed to be melodic. I think it’s supposed to be exactly what it is, a stylistic statement from the guy who was redefining guitar playing. No disrespect to RR but I very much doubt he gets the nod over Edward. EVH’s impact was enormous.
English

I love Eddie Van Halen. He changed guitar and I know people put Billie Jean as one of the greatest solos ever. It's really not. It's got some technical creativity to it but it doesn't sound like it fits the song. It's not extremely melodic.
And I've always asked the question if Randy Rhoads had lived. Is he the one who gets asked to do the solo on that song? He is way more melodic and he wanted to do session work

@carsonbhoffman @Polaroid This is cool!
The last two lines would make a better headline if you slice them up a bit. “Not in the cloud” is the most powerful part, but it’s buried.

@AndrewWriteCopy Hemingway is my favorite. Such talent.
Been writing a lot of fiction lately and more and more it feels like the first draft is me telling myself the story. Every draft after that is to clarify for an audience.

i found a way to steal the structure of any winning meta ad...
example below...
the ad library shows every ad your competitors run and how long it's been live. an ad that's been printing for months is a proven structure sitting there for free
everyone screenshots it and copies the words. wrong move. the words belong to their offer, and meta clocks near-copies anyway
the structure is what transfers. so i built a claude workflow that pulls out the skeleton, locks the character across 9 pillars, and writes the prompt that re-shoots the same structure with an ai actor for your offer
in the video: left is an ad running since june, right is the rebuild. nobody wrote a script
the full workflow is in a free guide, every prompt paste-ready
like + comment "SWIPE" and i'll send over in dm's
(following + rt for priority access)

@andreaberting Knee pain like that usually means weak or damaged hip flexors. Find some simple bodyweight moments on YouTube and you’ll be good as new :)

@TheStalwart 30 year guitar player here. The right hand does the more complex motor stuff. It’s harder to hit a given string or group of strings at one specific millisecond and reverse direction, mute, etc, versus fingering with the other hand - even for fast legato runs or whatever.

@ProfitsOnAPlate Nice, I’m not a copywriter.
Good job 💪🏼
Do you freelance? We need copywriters!

@runtraffic Congrats. My non AI copy is spending quite a bit more than that.

@ProfitsOnAPlate My AI copy is spending $2-3M/mo across multiple verticals

I just built a $10K/month creative strategist inside Claude Code 🤯
Drop in your competitor Facebook page URLs → it scrapes their live ads, AI-watches every video, and hands back a data-backed creative brief with 10 ad concepts written in your brand voice.
All inside Claude Code.
Perfect for creative agencies and DTC brands where competitor research means a full day lost before a single concept gets written.
If you're spending hours on competitor research,
digging through the Meta Ad Library one ad at a time,
replaying the same UGC hook trying to figure out why it works,
dumping screenshots into a doc nobody opens again,
then staring at a blank page for concept #1...
This system kills the entire loop:
→ Apify pulls your competitors' active Meta Ad Library ads (video + image)
→ Every creative asset downloads locally
→ Gemini watches each video and maps the hook, angle, visual format, copy framework, CTA, and emotional trigger
→ The full batch gets analyzed and the patterns repeating across 3+ ads surface automatically
→ Claude turns the proven mechanics into 10 ad concepts, matched to your brand voice
No Ad Library scrolling.
No screenshot graveyards.
No guessing which hooks convert.
What you get:
→ A 7-dimension teardown of every competitor ad
→ A pattern report of the hooks, formats, and triggers that keep repeating
→ 10 ready-to-brief concepts traced back to real competitor data
→ A reusable pipeline — swap in new competitors, get a new brief
The research that eats your team a full day now runs in 15 minutes for ~$3 in API costs.
Built 100% in Claude Code with Apify + Gemini.
I put together a full playbook showing how to build the whole thing step-by-step from scratch.

@pspfrench Nice to see you shouting out Carlton’s book. I helped him compile it. Humble brag 😂

I'm a copywriter but I still get the ick when I'm being sold to. I've read a load of pitches, studied an encyclopaedia of ads, and hand copied a bunch of sales letters. But as a buyer I've also sucked up a lot of lies. Everyone has. Even people who like being told what to do feel their defense systems go up when it's buy time. It's a normal human reaction to incoming pressure. So I'm not going to say you should go and read my Copy Custard sales page before it's too late. I don't want to sell it to you. I want you to enjoy the free shitpoasting for a while and then trust your own instinct if you're having fun. Welcome.
