@prototype_test @DivaJilly @AnishA_Moonka While the intentions are good, "Imagine" is somewhat of a silly song. China is winning by using communism to direct capitalist activities. US neoliberalism will always lose for 2 main reasons: 1) planning is verboten. 2) greed is glorified. Make Greed a Sin Again.

LOL. You think the disastrous ideology of communism went away. Wait you're serious... It did not. For evidence I point to John Lennon's "Imagine" which is quite communistic, and has 317,500 daily streams on Spotify. His musical version of Marx's communist manifesto "Working Class Hero" has 15,018 daily streams.

Researchers at UC Irvine took saliva samples from a choir before and after performing Beethoven. One antibody, the most abundant in your entire body, spiked 240%. That antibody is called secretory immunoglobulin A. Mouthful of a name, but it does a simple job: it coats your throat, gut, and airways and acts as your body’s first barrier against every cold, flu, and respiratory virus you breathe in. Your body makes more of it than all other antibody types combined. The 2000 study found this antibody rose 150% during rehearsals and 240% during the live performance. A separate 2004 study from the University of Frankfurt tested what happens when choir members just listen to the same music instead of singing it. The antibody barely moved. And their mood actually got worse. Marathon runners show the exact opposite. A study of 98 competitive runners found this same antibody dropped 21 to 31% after the race. 17% came down with colds or throat infections within two weeks. Cross-country runners tracked over a full season saw it fall to 40% of their starting level by November. Running was suppressing the same antibody that singing was tripling. It works through the vagus nerve, the longest nerve in your body. It runs from your brain down through your chest to your gut and controls your “rest and digest” mode. When you sing, your vocal cords physically vibrate against it where it wraps around your voice box. You’re also breathing from deep in your belly with long, slow exhales, which tells your nervous system to calm down. Your stress hormones drop. Your immune system responds. A 2016 study from the Royal College of Music and Imperial College London tested 193 cancer patients and carers across five choirs in South Wales. One hour of group singing lowered cortisol (the body’s main stress hormone) and raised five different immune signaling proteins. The people with the worst depression scores improved the most. You don’t need to be good at it. The boost comes from the physical act, the vibration and the breathing, not the melody. Trained soprano or shower singer, your body responds the same way. One caveat: that 240% number came from a live performance, where adrenaline and emotional intensity were at their peak. Singing along to the radio probably produces a smaller spike. And these are temporary boosts, not permanent changes. But the 193 cancer patients in the 2016 study weren’t performing Beethoven on stage. They were just singing together for an hour in community choirs.

When Israel began their campaign of mass starvation in Gaza, the Biden administration cut off ALL funding to UNRWA - the only aid organization capable of distributing food and medicine throughout all of Gaza - causing the death and suffering for countless Palestinians. When asked, Kamala Harris said there was not one policy of Biden's that she disagreed with. She had the opportunity to speak out. She did not. She was silent on the defunding of UNRWA. She never once promised to refund UNRWA if elected. Kamala Harris is complicit in the starvation and genocide of Palestinians.

My enemies are not in Iran. My enemies are in Washington and Tel Aviv. In London and Canberra. My enemies are the western oligarchs and empire managers who are poisoning my society and making everything awful while slaughtering human beings with the help of my tax dollars. My enemies are the tyrants who are turning our civilization into a mind-controlled dystopia where it is increasingly illegal to criticize the abuses of my government and its allies, and increasingly difficult to find information which runs counter to the imperial narrative. My enemies are the empire apologists and the hasbarists. The propagandists and spinmeisters. Those who side with Israel and the United States against basic human interests. Imperial bootlickers always accuse me of writing “propaganda” for the “enemy”, with “enemy” meaning whoever the US-centralized empire happens to be attacking or preparing to attack on any given day. I always want to tell them “Motherfucker YOU are my enemy. YOU. You and the empire you simp for.” The Iranians have never done anything to me. The Iranians pose no threat to me. They didn’t bring war to my country. The empire I live under brought war to theirs. The Iranians haven’t robbed me and my fellow westerners of all democratic political agency to create an oligarchy run by megalomaniacal plutocrats and psychopathic government agencies. The Iranians haven’t locked down all political systems throughout western society making it impossible to vote our way into peace, economic justice, and government transparency. The Iranians aren’t working tirelessly to brainwash and manipulate everyone in my society to turn us all into apathetic flag-waving morons who care more about sports and celebrities than the fact that their government is committing horrifying war crimes. The Iranians aren’t trying to make it illegal for me to criticize Israel and its abuses, or working to imprison my countrymen for uttering normal political slogans in opposition to a genocidal apartheid state. The Iranians aren’t making my society crazy, stupid and evil while we hurtle toward ecological disaster, nuclear armageddon and AI tech dystopia. I haven’t spent years watching a live-streamed genocide in Gaza being perpetrated by the Iranians. I’m not frightened that the Iranians will try to draft my son to fight and die in a crazy, evil war. The Iranians are not doing any of these things to me. These are things the western power structure is doing. I have no loyalty to that power structure. I have loyalty to my species, to my family, and to the values I hold sacred in my heart of hearts. The US empire can get fucked.

Never forget how Dr. Cornball West was one of the most prominent “progressives” pushing for support of the Iran protests. He even went on CNN to scold the left for not supporting Mossad regime change operations
Caitlin Johnstone@caitoz

Can't get over how many leftists bought into the "we support the Iran protests" schtick. Where the fuck did you idiots think this was headed? What did you think you were promoting when you assisted the US empire's regime change sloganeering throughout the west? Fucking morons.

@StatisticsBC @JasonBassler1 Insurance fraud is probably on a long-term rise because everything is so expensive. There are people who say insurance companies control a lot of what gov does. They're kind of right. I'd say "Nationalize insurance," but we'd need a non-corrupt gov to do that properly.

You've heard of Palantir, what about Blueskeye AI? It’s a biometric-monitoring company and a likely contender for the 2027 vehicle monitoring mandate. Blueskeye AI specializes in: -Eye‑tracking -Facial expression analysis -Head‑position monitoring -Drowsiness & distraction detection -Behavioral pattern analysis using face + voice The law requires the technology but doesn’t say which company has to provide it. 🚩 This is the exact kind of “quiet infrastructure” that fuels surveillance creep: -No opt‑out -Private vendor -No public vote -Biometric data collection normalized as “safety” -Can be repurposed for control or behavioral scoring Their tech could sit in millions of cars, tracking drivers while the company itself stays invisible to the public.

@LeafLee6 @JasonBassler1 Nope. That will be illegal. Insurance companies want to know everything you do in the car. The car companies that sell new cars already track people's activities while in-car. The trap door has been closed. We're just livestock now.

@AndreaHay10 @CarlZha @Saccaguru This may be expensive, but the US & Israel are starting to get inexpensive drones from Ukraine, who is "best friends" with genocidal Bibi and his regime. Almost like the proxy war that got a million Ukrainian soldiers killed is now benefitting the empire & the genocidaires.

This is the most censored conflict of my lifetime and I don’t understand why or how it’s possible. I have always believed that “truth will out” both at a micro and macro level. But I think that thesis has been invalidated. I am now under the impression that the era of truth is over and now we have entered a managed reality phase. The trend of wealth and power consolidation has moved past a point of no return such that even if the truth is published it can easily be buried by unlimited amounts of weaponized misinformation and disinformation. Le sad.

@FlyingHouseYeah @CDMorlock @OsosYTequila They say "AI is doing it" but we've seen them just use buildings full of engineers & developers in Mumbai. We also already know from current workers that a lot of the "AI job losses" end up just being "do more work for the same salary" for everyone who survives the layoffs.

"If your whole job appears on a screen you're cooked" = PMC and menial service class Armageddon. Basically, the entire "knowledge worker" or "information worker" is the first to get wiped. Just like mechanical engineers in Detroit in the early 50's who set up all the automated tracer machinery (and early CNC) they essentially engineered themselves out of existence. Finance, education, most of healthcare, all of IT, any computer work, any infotech- that's AI's target. The ruling elite is tired of having to rely on a PMC to run society. Marx vindicated again, the progress of technology far outmodes the social relations that the earlier epoch insists on; now turning into the fetters of it's production. Mass proletarianization ahead as US Empire and dollar hegenomy flatlines- HVAC, commercial delivery, making shit, sweat equity: the necessity with be apparent. If you blockade Walmart (China) what happens next? Musk, like all US elites, thinks "oh universal high income UBI, this will solve all problems..." but how? Printing more money and a move towards unending sustained war - the Fascist mode of unproduction, the only way forward for bougeouis socialism.

Private equity firms bought 500 hospitals. Death rates in their emergency rooms went up 13%. They fired 12% of the staff. Then they paid themselves billions in dividends. A Harvard study just confirmed what doctors already knew: people are dying so investors can hit quarterly targets. Exactly what happens. A PE firm buys a hospital using debt. The debt gets placed on the hospital's balance sheet, not the firm's. Now the hospital owes hundreds of millions it never borrowed. To service that debt, the hospital cuts costs. Costs mean nurses. The numbers from the Harvard/University of Chicago study are horrifying. After PE acquisition, emergency department salary spending dropped 18.2%. ICU salary spending dropped 15.9%. Hospital-wide employees were cut 11.6%. Emergency department deaths rose 13%, seven additional deaths per 10,000 visits. A separate study found patients undergoing surgery at PE-acquired hospitals had 17% higher odds of dying within 90 days. Steward Health Care, owned by Cerberus Capital, filed bankruptcy with $9 billion in debt after closing hospitals across Massachusetts. The CEO lived on a $40 million yacht while emergency rooms went dark. Eight hospitals serving 2 million people nearly disappeared because a PE fund extracted more cash than the system could survive. The private equity industry has poured over $1 trillion into healthcare. They operate a quarter of ERs nationwide. This isn't going away. The investing angle nobody talks about. Non-PE hospital operators like HCA Healthcare (HCA) and Tenet (THC) are the direct beneficiaries. Every time a PE hospital closes or deteriorates, patients flow to the nearest competitor. HCA has returned 1,200% since 2011. Patient volume from PE closures is a structural tailwind nobody's pricing in. Medical staffing firms (AMN Healthcare, Cross Country) charge premium rates specifically because PE hospitals cut staff. The staffing shortage IS the business model for these companies. The disruption play: outpatient surgical centers (SCA Health, now part of UnitedHealth) are pulling profitable procedures out of hospitals entirely. PE-owned hospitals lose their highest-margin surgeries to outpatient, and the death spiral accelerates. Pull up tradevision and monitor healthcare M&A alerts, hospital closure filings, and patient volume migration data. When a PE-owned hospital announces "restructuring," the patient volume shift to competitors like HCA starts within 30 days. That 30-day window is when the competitor's earnings revisions haven't updated yet. Free to try. (a private equity firm bought your local hospital. borrowed $500 million in the hospital's name. fired 12% of the nurses. emergency room deaths rose 13%. then they paid themselves dividends. nobody went to prison. they're currently buying another hospital.)

New research reveals that the act of singing can skyrocket immune-boosting antibodies by up to 240% in just one hour. Recent scientific studies reveal that singing is a biological powerhouse that significantly strengthens the immune system. Specifically, vocalizing triggers a rapid increase in Immunoglobulin A (sIgA), a crucial antibody that protects the mouth, throat, and gut from infection. Research involving choir members has shown that active singing can cause these immune markers to spike by as much as 240% within a single hour. Crucially, the benefit requires active participation; while listening to music offers emotional perks, the physical act of singing produces a far more immediate and substantial surge in antibody levels. Beyond the chemical boost, singing functions as physical medicine by activating the vagus nerve to calm the body. This process reduces cortisol, the primary stress hormone, and balances the immune response. These findings are remarkably inclusive, showing measurable improvements in everyone from casual singers to cancer patients and their caregivers. Regardless of technical skill or training, the simple act of raising your voice provides a universal tool for enhancing resilience and health. source: Kreutz, G., Bongard, S., Rohrmann, S., Hodapp, V., & Grebe, D.. Effects of choir singing or listening on secretory immunoglobulin A, cortisol, and emotional state. Journal of Behavioral Medicine.
