Elon Musk just put the entire university system on trial. Not the curriculum. Not the professors. The premise. Musk: “You don’t need college to learn stuff. Everything is available basically for free. You can learn anything you want for free.” For a thousand years, universities held one monopoly. Access. You paid the toll or you stayed ignorant. The internet erased that in a decade. Every lecture. Every framework. Every textbook. Free. From any screen on Earth. The six-figure tuition is no longer buying knowledge. It is buying a signal. Musk: “There is a value that colleges have, which is seeing whether somebody can work hard at something, including a bunch of annoying homework assignments, and still do their homework assignments.” That is the product. Not intelligence. Not creativity. Not vision. Compliance. You are paying $200,000 to prove you can tolerate bureaucracy on a schedule. Musk: “Colleges are basically for fun and to prove you can do your chores. But they’re not for learning.” The entire system is a sorting machine for corporate HR. It does not measure what you can build. It measures whether you can sit still, follow directions, and deliver on command. Four years of obedience dressed as education. Musk: “If you’re trying to do something exceptional, you must have evidence of exceptional ability. I don’t consider going to college evidence of exceptional ability.” The system optimizes for average. It rewards the compliant. It certifies the patient. It quietly filters out everyone who refuses to wait for permission. The ones who reshaped the modern world never finished the test. Musk: “Gates is a pretty smart guy, he dropped out. Jobs is pretty smart, he dropped out. Larry Ellison, smart guy, he dropped out.” They did not drop out because it was too hard. They dropped out because the speed limit was too low. The most dangerous thing a university does is convince a generational talent that finishing the syllabus is the achievement. It is not. It is the floor. A degree is a receipt for compliance. The future has never belonged to people who finish their homework. It belongs to the on

@Heminator @instapundit The Left can only interact with reality through their fantasy worlds. It’s why they can’t meme, can’t joke, and can’t write. They’re stunted NPCs.

Once more with feeling: The West Wing is to politics was pornography is to sex—a complete fantasy that leads to unrealistic expectations and real world disappointment.
Rich Luchette@richluchette

The thing about watching the West Wing today isn’t that it’s aged poorly (it hasn’t). It’s that it takes you back to a time when many still believed that public service could be a noble calling. An entire generation has now grown up without that feeling.

@richluchette For normal people it takes them back to a time when people understood fiction was fiction. Yet you and your political kin are so broken you think it was real. It’d be sad if you weren’t so funny.

This is the author who thrust AI water hysteria into the mainstream by overestimating data center water use by 100,000% in her book Empire of AI by mixing up units. She is a source of wild misinformation. Imagine writing an Econ book on the premise that minimum wage is $7,250/hr

Why do you keep saying "wars Susan Collins sent you to"? You voluntarily served our nation and enlisted in the military AFTER the war was authorized by Congress. You wrote that you "wanted to play soldier" and that it was "an excellent experience." So why lie?
Graham Platner for Senate@grahamformaine

The GOP is attacking me for using GI Bill benefits I earned by serving in wars Susan Collins voted to send me to. Disgusting yet unsurprising. You want to know how I paid for college? With 4 tours in the infantry. Susan Collins needs to condemn these vile attacks on my service.

I am a J6er. I protested a stolen election. Walked right past the police through an open door, and the police let me in. My father's step son turned me into the FBI. My house was raided. They branded me a traitor, and insurrectionist, slapped me on a terrorist watchlist. I plead guilty to illegal picketing, a Class B petty offense misdemeanor with the same sentencing guidelines as walking your dog off leash on a National Park . They swore no prison time. They lied. Judge Hogan sentenced me to 30 days for “not being remorseful enough” and three years’ probation to tie me up through elections. An unconstitutional "split" sentence. My Judge, Judge Hogan called J6 worse than the war of 1812. All I did was chant "Stop the Steal!" inside the Capitol and wear the wrong Tshirt. God Bless the J6ers!

My viral @X post has now been vindicated. Trolls rushed to community note it. Then the @latimes contacted me directly and, with permission from my multiple sources, independently confirmed my reporting. On the day of the Islamic Center attack, the @SanDiegoPD Northern Division reportedly had just 7 officers working despite a minimum staffing level of 14. At 9:42 a.m. Cain Clark’s mother called police reporting her son had taken guns from the family safe and left a note saying “this is going to happen anyways.” Police did not arrive until 11:10 a.m. By 11:42 a.m. the attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego had already begun. This is what happens when Democrats gut public safety, slash staffing, burn out officers, openly attack them for political reasons and funnel taxpayer money into pet projects, consultants, and political vanity virtual signaling programs while citizens cry out for help during an active terror threat.

SOURCE: The San Diego Police Department Northern Division is where the Islamic Center shooting happened and they were 7 officers understaffed today for morning watch. The mother of one of the shooters called PD at 9am to report her son stole her car and the father’s guns and left a note about “shooting up a place.” The CALL HELD for 2 HOURS before an officer went to handle it. The active shooter came out while the unit was speaking with the mom. This whole thing could have been stopped if we had adequate staffing. The City of San Diego has failed us by supporting Defund the Police and not having a balanced budget.
