@TunedIntoTennis @swiateksg1rl Are you always this nasty? Should I give you the number for my gynecologist? Or anyone else? All female athletes, myself included, took the sex test back in the 70’s and 80’s. Lost many a match thanks to a bad period and PMS. Try again with your misogynist bullshit.

Whilst lots of people clearly don't want to hear it, the Falklands War wasn't an 'English' war any more than the Second or First World Wars were. That's true whatever you think of the conflict itself.

Souness's parents lived in Saughton Mains, Edinburgh, where I grew up. I got his autograph at his mother's door way back in 1978. I was 12 and he had just played for Scotland against England at Hampden in the home internationals that year. Me and my pals guessed that he would visit his mother before heading back to Liverpool after the game. So we waited outside his mum's stair, four of us, sitting on the grass. Sure enough he pulled up in a car with his brother driving. We were in literal awe of him as he got out and headed into the building, saying hello to us as he did. I was chosen to go to the door and knock and ask for an autograph. He opened it and appeared like a giant. 'Can we have your autograph, please?' I asked. 'Wait there son,' he said. Moments later he returned with four signed picture cards of himself. I recall that later we walked round to the other side of his mother's building and could see through her kitchen window the England number-3 shirt of Mick Mills hanging up, obviously having just been washed. Fast forward to 1986 and, working security, I was his bodyguard at a boxing event in Livingston when he was manager of Rangers. He was a pure gentleman then too. Souness is a real one.

@Keesy2411 @peterlanee I saw him in Glasgow. My son, I and many others were entranced by the first half. It was known in advance what the concert was, I saw nobody on their phones, and in fact it was incredibly well received.

@peterlanee The first half of his concert was self indulgent tripe. He's absolutley earned the right to do whatever he wants but the paying public have also earned the right to look at their phones if they are bored witless. Not a person on earth enjoyed that first half.

When I saw Paul Simon I had an absolutely terrible experience for the first part of his concert. He starts his set with a 30 minute front to back performance of his new album. Every person around me used that time to talk, crack jokes, complain and scroll on social media. It’s —

@RealStephenKerr @LucyHunterB Oh look, a vital national crisis! Thank goodness you’re on the case, Stephen. The entire future of Scotland surely hinges on this microscopic data dispute. How will the country survive without this crucial paperwork? Absolute peak performance in mountain-building.

Skandale avslørt: Tre ledende trans-forskere i Norge felt for grov vitenskapelig uredelighet.

I told the last BBC DG to his face last year that if he didn't get a grip on the definition of "woman" in the BBC's reporting, we are all fucked. Because if our national broadcaster can't define a woman, society will start to break down. He told me it wasn't a big story.

Your reminder that the actual British working class is majority female, disproportionately ethnic minority, and isn't insanely keen on genital inspections.
Richard Johnson@richardmarcj

Provocative piece by my colleague Colm Murphy in @politicshome. As I read it, his view (and one shared by many academics, as he mentions) is Labour shouldn't bother trying to appeal to the small-c conservative, patriotic working-classes if it means offending socially liberal voters, including on issues like immigration. Some research (which I've not found terribly persuasive, to be honest) suggests that the former voters are just unattainable. I suppose there comes a point where one must ask is a party just a vessel to win votes, or is does it have a bigger purpose? Should a party seek to represent one group of voters, even if it means annoying another group that currently (but contingently) supports them? I think parties can be agents in making this trade-off. So, is the Labour Party to be purely a party of liberalism and the academically credentialed because those are the voters who have backed it recently? Or should the party very deliberately seek to represent the interests of labour (centred around class, solidarity, community, nation, social obligation), even if those voters don't always embrace all the tenets of social liberalism? I personally think the latter, even if those voters are harder to reach, but I accept many disagree with me. Perhaps it is a losing -- or even lost -- battle, but I don't see it just as nostalgia or some kind of historical hang-up but existential for the identity and purpose of the party. politicshome.com/opinion/articl…

Arrernte woman here who’s been through Women’s Inma and speaks language. There is NO trans in Aboriginal language, culture or Law. Not one single Dreaming ancestor, sacred site, song or story give our culture trans shit. NONE. There is Men’s Business and Women’s Business. Sister girls and brother boys were terms originally given to gay people. The trans nutters stole these words and then pushed their US white gender bullshit into our sacred law and culture. I hold songs, ceremony, designs that get painted on our bodies for law, and sacred knowledge for a particular women’s sacred site. No men are allowed within a km or so of this area. And any man who claimed he was a woman who tried to come into this area will be flogged accordingly. You cannot go through the Law I’ve been through unless you’re female and you’ve had children. So bugger off with this trans bullshit. Stop spreading LIES about Aboriginal culture. Trans is a recent import from white fellas.
