My favorite are the short female chefs on Chopped who are always like "I may be bite sized, but I can COOK!" like I'm sorry is there a stereotype that only tall people can cook?
Erin "Skeleton Factory" Ryan@morninggloria

@CartoonsHateHer same goes for content aimed at the challenges of being a tall woman. petite women just cannot wait to talk about being tiny. they are champing at the bit

I don’t “miss” Ke’bryan Hayes or anything like that. Our team is better without him tbh But I do keep thinking about how when he was traded my feeling was less “he sucks” and more “he doesn’t fit with our roster”. I feel strongly that he is a massive asset provided that your hitting is strong enough to overcome how useless he is at the plate. Last year, we couldn’t afford to have a black hole in the lineup considering we already had several But now? This is ironically the type of team that Hayes could’ve thrived on

@NotHankDave "Yeah I am saying we are overcoming dismal output for Ozuna" Oh, I'm with you. He's definitely been better, as of late, and I'm hoping we see the 'real' Ozuna for the rest of the year.

@ProtonPirate Yeah I am saying we are overcoming dismal output for Ozuna I am not necessarily saying that I would take key back, regardless of his contract situation (which would make it more difficult for me to embrace)

@NotHankDave "...are we not overcoming something similar with Ozuna right now?" I'm not sure I know what you are saying. If you are saying that we have had to, so far, overcome the dismal output from Ozuna, I definitely agree. But I, also, don't want to sign Ozuna to 8yr/$70 Million.

@ProtonPirate I get what you’re saying but are we not overcoming something similar with Ozuna right now? DH is entirely offensive production and we are just not getting it consistently. Broadly speaking the team is doing fine

@NotHankDave At 3B? Honestly, it's a 'power' position. Sacrificing some of that production when you consider how much we are getting from SS and CF... OK, I hear you. But not THAT much. Key really, really fell off and we were able to unload his contract onto a divisional rival. Win.

@acquisizioni A very small plan for a town hall and a church, at the top of the hill, and then selling off all the other land to whomever wants to build, and they can build whatever they want. You want lots of land and want to drive to the store, then you also need to build the road.

If I said, “the house is 1200sqft” you would say that’s too small. If I showed you this house you would start finding reasons why it’s the perfect size.

Whisky Rebel is correct. Reminds me of when the GA builder lobby successfully pushed thru residential contractor licensing in 2004. Existing practitioners grandfathered, of course. The promoters presented no evidence from other states that licensing would increase quality, lower cost, improve customer experience, etc (because the evidence is weak to non-existent). No evidence of quality improvement since—but, to the surprise of no one, fees have gone up.
Whisky Rebel@ProtonPirate

@ggraham Right. But we see something similar with smaller, 'organized' businesses, as well. For instance, you need a license to arrange and sell flowers in Louisiana. It cost them less money to lobby the pols than it was to out-compete newer florists. Democracy In Action.

@Watchman_motto This is, obviously, a very nice looking home, however... Most homes, as drawings, look pretty good with a lakeside setting. I'm sure this would also look good in a more walkable environment, and I wish that was the default setting for, particularly, smaller home designs.

@ggrrrha @wearetherace I am not a Tifoso, but Ferrari got absolutely fucked with the various 'updates' to the '26 regs. Every Grand Prix should see a Ferrari flying off the line and getting a huge lead on Lap 1 before the Mercs would catch them midway through the race. But the rules were changed.

@ProtonPirate @wearetherace Yeah, the same with the super-clipping being increased to 350kw. Funnily, that’s one of the only major things that were changed in the break and was heavily lobbied by all Merc teams. And Ferrari lost 0.4-0.5 s every straight in the following race. I would call that a surprise...

Historically one of the biggest supporters of the current power unit formula, Mercedes has thrown its weight behind #F1's proposed switch to V8s - and even suggested a plan for a 1200bhp "mega" engine: the-race.com/formula-1/f1s-…

@DawgsandBurgh @LetsGoBucsHD56 Right. As was that one catch he made against the Reds, running into the OF and makes a sliding catch and then doubles up the runner at 1B. However, you see him celebrate the catch with a "WWOOOO" before throwing the ball to 1B. I think he was a natural athlete w/o the focus.

@ggrrrha @wearetherace Yup. The-Race once estimated that MB was developing their Turbo Hybrid engine SEVEN YEARS before they were introduced! I hold nothing against Toto, but the fans should know what's actually happening.

@ProtonPirate @wearetherace It seems like he pushes certain engine elements as “necessary” and “the future” because he already has a head start on them. They’re developed long before entering the regs, so when costly, underwhelming rules arrive, he holds a major advantage.

@ggrrrha @wearetherace Honestly, he has had a huge impact and few seem to realize what a massive driving force he was for the current 50/50. Audi did not push for 50/50 and Honda came on AFTER it was decided. Ferrari were not pushing for it and Horner DEFINITELY was pushing for it. It was Toto.

@DawgsandBurgh @LetsGoBucsHD56 I'll never forget Cole saying (paraphrasing), "Yeah, it's weird. Your entire life you are the best player on the team and then, one day, you're not." He was a very athletic guy who, seemingly, never became hyper-focused on improving his hitting. He was easy to root for, though.
