Beware of “Conclavism,” which is an erroneous theological attempt to have a gathering of traditional bishops who have no jurisdiction—that is, no power to govern or rule—elect a “pope.” It would be a true disgrace if they proceeded with that. The Roman Catholic Institute and the IMBC in Europe strongly oppose such an absurd idea. Theologically, it is unsustainable.

In terms of jurisdiction (the power to govern), sedevacantist bishops are functionally on the same level as lay people. Without a lawful mission from a Pope, they cannot constitute or participate in a General Council. It’s a simple concept, but the confusion persists.
