Not a democrat, but yes, this is very bad. This is what we call a "social program", which is what socialists do (and Trump is very much a socialist). We are TRILLIONS in debt. Where is this new spending going to come from? A couple of places: 1) savers tax credit - normally the tax payer would get that back, now they have to get a match reducing choice, OR they lose it entirely 2) Budget increases from SECURE 2.0 act, which is funded by taxpayers (more theft of Americans - aka more taxes) Money doesn't come from a money tree. If it costs money, we can't afford it. Cut spending ASAP, but instead, this guy spends like a drunken saylor.

Not true. If you are working and collecting income and live in a state that requires it. the employer will be forced to register in your state for insurance, tax, and workers comp obligations. A carnival cruise does not remove the state registration and tax obligations for an employer that does not do business in your state but employs you while living in a state or changing domicile between states. All companies in the us have to follow all worker based laws for states where their employees live or work.

Call me crazy, but in my line of work, the job gets done or it doesn't.

@CCIE_24825 @MensHumor If you maintain a US address the company does not need to jump through any hoops. The employee is required to declare income depending on the country, and pay taxes, but that doesnt fall to the employer. Carnival cruise lines is mainly in international waters anyways

@MensHumor It isn’t the employers fault. Wherever you do work, the employer and employee need to account for that for tax purposes. It is the government forcing it, either at the state or federal level. And some foreign countries also force it.
