@NETGEAR Thanks for the confirmation! It would have been worth a quick follow up notification on the Orbi app to notify users of this :)

@NETGEAR What is going on with the "Gues WiFi PN Gues WiFi Test deep link" messages every Orbi user is getting? Please let users know what is going on - whether you are, as many think, accidentally testing in production. Or if you actually have been hacked, as others suspect.

@TeamYouTube Thanks, for that - although you really should check whatever it is that's sending those. I DID mark the email as spam, so in future if there is an issue, I may not be notified. It came in AFTER I got the bank notification, so the system should have been aware it worked by then.

@QChristensen if the subscription is active, you can just disregard the email

@YouTube I got a notification from my bank that you'd taken your monthly YouTube premium payment. I then got an email from you: "Don't lose YouTube Premium. Update your payment method ASAP". My payment method is fine, you might want to look at your email sending routine though.

@TeamYouTube Yes & this isn't a new subscription, we've been with you for awhile. I initially marked the email as spam but I got a notification from the YouTube app itself so I believe it is genuine. When I look at my billing info, it looks fine - and the money came out today so it's working?

@Telstra Thanks Greg, yes I get "Unplanned NBN service interruption, estimated restoration "unavailable". Talking to others in the area they are also affected. I assume it's bigger than originally anticipated. Any hint please as to whether it might be resolved today, this week, longer?

@QChristensen Hi Quentin, the technician reports I can access advise there are two separate faults affecting some NBN services in Warragul at the moment. Are any details shown if you search for your address via telstra.com.au/outages#/ ? Greg

@Telstra What is going on with NBN internet in Warragul, Vic? And when will it be resolved?

@BOM_Vic Curiously, if I try to go to bom.gov.au I get a message saying "The Bureau of Meteorology website does not currently support connections via HTTPS." - which almost looks like you setup a secure server, purely to point users back to the insecure one?

@BOM_Vic Have you got any plans to update to HTTPS? Every time I try to go to the site, browsers complain that you aren't secure.

@auspost Thanks for the update Cam! I must admit I got in the habit of ignoring the messages because it was impossible to link them with an order (even worse on eBay). But, as you indicted, I've recently got a couple of notifications which have told me who was sending it, which is great!

@QChristensen Hi Quentin, you generally receive that message from our system once the sender creates the label. Generally if the sender digitally lists themselves on the manifest, it would tell you their name via the app. They do not always do this. - Cam

@auspost Why are your updates so secretive? I get an email with "Your delivery is being packed by the sender". You know who they are. I (should) know who sends me things. If you just said who it was, it would save the sender having to send me the same tracking number to confirm?

@DerekRiemer Social media meets tabletop wargaming - I've got this image of someone looking across a table of 5cm high people - their subscribers, facing off against your opponents on the other side of the table!

It just occured to me that modern tts, in all their beautiful overly engineered glory, would read "50 mm subscribers" as "50 milimeters subscribers." because it's obvious, mm can't be used for anything but milimeters. Don’t tell me that you'll use machine learning to solve this.

@DerekRiemer Imagine if Margaret Hamilton saw some of the code that gets published today, she'd faint! She'd probably look at half of it, say "I could have done that in three lines on a punch card, input it manually, on a computer with a dozen bytes of memory, and it would STILL load faster!"

@QChristensen As someone who trimmed a few dozen MS off of a menu load, and came to realize that after 100,000,000 users, that meant months of time saved where nothing valuable was happening, Immagine if windows used a little less ram to load candycrush or teams when nobody is using it.

I can't be the only engineer who sometimes just stops whatever I’m doing when I encounter some old piece of tech to marvle at both how far we’ve come, and how genius someone was to design a thing with the available tech at that time.

@DerekRiemer Yes sleep mode is quick but it's also not loading the whole os from scratch. Having tried it early on, I'm also wary of it, even though I know it works fine these days

@DerekRiemer exactly! My first PC was a 386 with 2mb ram. I could press the button & be at a DOS prompt ready to work in 4 seconds. My next best was a first gen pentium which could get to the windows 95 at the desktop in 9 seconds. With so much more power why are we going backwards?
