The State of the Union under President Biden can be summed up in one word: Crisis. Inflation crisis. Border crisis. Afghanistan crisis. COVID crisis. Supply chain crisis. Ukraine crisis. Crime crisis.

Ten reasons why Putin is invading Ukraine *now*: 1. Democrats disarmed Ukraine's nukes & military weapons (Clinton, Obama) 2. Obama's presidency softened up America 3. Democrats undermine US energy production 4. Oil prices now *high* (just like w/ Georgia, Crimea invasions)

The press lies to you about everything else, so why would you think they’re not lying to you about #Ukraine? When they distort the truth about things you’re in a position to know, you can be sure they’re also distorting the truth about things you don’t know. Vigilance! #FakeNews

I mostly want to cry about what is happening in Ukraine. I knew this was coming at least in 2014. I warned and warned. But I didn’t do enough to make a difference.

For all the talk about massive sanctions, the EU could not agree a total ban on Russian bank access. It is still buying Russian gas and it did not agree to block Russia’s access to SWIFT. So much for standing shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine. Hopeless.

TUCKER: The West is dangerously dependent on Vladimir Putin for energy. He has the power to send EU and the U.S. into an economic depression, Putin has the power to turn off the lights. So where did Vladimir #Putin get this power? The Climate people gave him this power #Ukraine

Putin's invasion of #Ukraine has so many wretched consequences (humanitarian, economic, Taiwan, etc.); is there a silver lining? Yes, one. It's a chance for the West to be kicked out of the climate-change & critical-race-theory stupors, a wake-up opportunity to abandon wokeness.

@DerbyChrisW NATO is not expansionist. The countries who have joined NATO have done so because they seek protection against the aggression and violence of Russia (ipso facto). Putin was the one who took the decision to invade, not NATO. Put the blame in the right place.

@Qratetv That's why I believe the warmongering NATO should have been disbanded. Contrary to the bs propaganda churned out by the political class and the corporate media stenographers, the crisis in #Ukraine is entirely the responsibility of the expansionary desires of NATO and the EU.

Excellent blog by Tony Greenstein on the situation in #Ukraine. As a socialist I support self-determination for the people of the Donbas region. Tony highlights how they've been badly treated by the regime that was installed after the 2014 coup. tonygreenstein.com/2022/02/the-bl…
