I have something to admit. I was on my last ounce of faith with FFXIV. I couldn't stream it more than 2 hours without being bored out of my mind. There was nothing I wanted to do on it. I had so many complaints mainly about the fatigue of the same stuff over and over and I was just paying rent on my house. This fanfest I wasn't expecting much, it was more of maybe this is the last time i'll see my friends if there was no longer a fanfest after this. Let me tell you now that I have never felt so emotional and happy about a game that has changed my life multiple times. From streaming XIV turning into a full time job, meeting the love of my life for the last 4 years in game, and just meeting such wonderful friends online. Seeing how much passion the developers and production poured into this Fanfest proves to me we have a great future going forward. I had so much fun during the whole of Fanfest. From the events, the meetups, the cosplays, the panels, Keiko and Amanda's piano concert, and Primals rocking it. Finally hearing Yoshi P telling everyone at the very end that "He loves us all" just hit different. The heartfelt emotion pretty much left such a positive impression upon the whole community. As I was walking around the convention hall, all I could hear were talks about getting home and playing the new content, how excited people were for 8.0, the amazing XIV community, and how people were reinstalling the game (Like me as I type this) LOL. Yoshi P, Soken, Koji, Foxclon and the rest gave us their hearts and soul for this Fanfest. All I feel now are positive thoughts, hype, and excitement for 8.0. They pretty much addressed a huge list of things people wanted and we are getting it. For anyone who wasn't physically at fanfest to not experience it directly, let me convince you the hype is real, the positive stories you are reading are real. The people ripping farts in the pit were real. I'm ready to dive back into XIV after 8 months away and I have never been more excited. Install is done. NAMAZU LOGGING IN. Happy Ending - Zalera

@hacylhacyl I mean enough where I don't wanna watch anymore. Some shown to me i thought was a bit of a reach, some extreme, some just annoying. Either way SQEX handled it and im moving on from it. At the end of the day why does it matter what I think of his image to you? lol.

@Quan2three "I've been shown ALOT of pretty wild takes" Ima ask you how alot is ALOT cos the guy is a full time streamer for 10+ years. Theres plenty of content for everyone to clip spicy snippets of his hottest takes. The guy isnt an angel and never aspired to be a leading voice for FF14

So after 24 hrs of reading some of the comments and feedback and seeing how "shitty" of a person Xenos is. I got some feedback for alot of yall too. I came in with a concern and I did get educated a bit and I change my stance that yeah what SQEX did was within scope and reason. I also shouldn't have to worry as much as a creator b/c it seems this was an extreme case. So yeah im not too worried about the implications of free speech and policing as long as I'm just a chill non toxic fish. Before making yesterday's post though, I rarely ever watched the guy b/c in general I don't like watching any creators who farm drama for content (personal preference). Alot of people were going off on me like how I could defend his content and i'm like whoa hold up I only see what I see on X/twitter not his video content. I'ma be real as possible. In the last 24 hrs I've been shown ALOT of pretty wild takes he has and yeah he deserves the heck out of the suspension. TOS does state that video services are within scope of the "policing" so be it. But here's the thing you all are VERY educated on Xenos and literally every infraction/bad thing he has said. You can link the exact google doc, news article, screenshots on demand of everything the guy has done.. You can even quote the guy from 6 years ago VERBATIM, but let me ask. Why are you consuming his content? Why are you clicking his video? Why are you getting ragebaited? Why can you quote a guy you hate? If you don't like him, just don't listen to any of his ramblings. It's as easy as hanging up the phone, turning off the screen, putting on ear plugs, turning the other way, going outside to touch grass, petting your cat/dog. Bonus points if you block the most actively vocal XIV posters on X/twitter who just argue back and forth to farm engagement and spotlight Xeno type creators. (unless you like drama..?) Anyways, this is my personal platform to chat and my parting Namazu wisdom is "block him if you don't care what he does, block me if this post annoyed you, and block anyone who says dumb shit about Soken cuz that man is sacred."

@PedroAGMYT thats weird af lol. I think thats a sub community within the community cuz i for sure don't care about that.

@Quan2three Oh, for a while, the community seems to normalize monitoring each other with the intent of reporting them. Some "scandals" seem to have a pattern of someone casually recording and finding another person doing something, and then reporting it. I cannot help but find it...weird.

You're good don't stress about it. No need to apologize. The concern was if this guys has been making hateful content when exactly was that line crossed with SE. Cuz i ain't tryna get banned for voicing my opinions about the game. How much was too much? Thats the clarity i wanted to get from SQEX

@Quan2three I also want to apologize if I came off a bit harsh because im sure you're a fine individual. I get where you're coming from and mostly agree that visible lines should be made I just feel this is the wrong context for it

I think rank 1 in like Counterstrike, Valorant, League of legends is way better than anyone in FFXIV who can press GCDs faster then the next person. a 99 parser versus a 20 parser changes nothing at the end of the day. They both still cleared lol. The only exception is world first raiding. thats cool.

@Quan2three "Rank1" and then i think it got to his head. A lot of people are really not fit to be public figures imo so i just quit supporting him at all and have had him blocked here for years. Lots of other kind helpful people that put out guides these days for raids thankfully

@NarkosTrap Social media sucks doesn't it? I don't think baldy is trying to burn a video game franchise down or incite terrorism. I think he's just trying to pay the bills and hook up with girls. Let Sqex handle the policing. You just cheer them on when they do it.

@Quan2three I wish I was exaggerating but this is just the world we live in and how humans both positively and negatively bleed off on each other. Large XIV creators like this who normalize gross, misogynistic behavior and inflammatory interactions hurt the community in numerous ways.

ah gotcha you mean like raiding community circle. Yeah thats something im not even remotely closely involved in. but i've heard a few things from direct friends who were affected relationship wise on twitter and not the biggest fan of many involevd. Sounds like I definitely dont wanna be involved in that raiding scene lol. but yeah i hope you celebrate the suspension if it brings some joy but dont let the bullies bother you. Tons of other gamers you can game with.

@Quan2three See more people try, but its hard when he is seemingly the face due to the size of his fanbase to say "hey not everyone is that cruel".

And hopefully the GM team researches and enforces accurately. They opened their can of worms now they gotta deal with it. But easily solved with hard transparency on his specific ban, but will they do that? probably not. but im not gonna argue if they can do something or not, its literally their game and they can do what they want. It's a business, not a governmental body.

@Quan2three We don't consume his content. We dislike the fact that he negatively affects the experience of our peers and want the community to be free of harmful shit like that.

@Quan2three So are you going to keep that same energy for people in the community who attack religious people all the time or ideologies outside the game? Or is this selective on ToS. I have played the game for years many people brake ToS who are for this ban.

@meigbffxiv Yeah i was more concerned about the Content creator's freedom. But yeah just cuz some old bald man is yapping on a screen doesn't mean we have to watch it. We got nothing to prepare for. This guy should not affect your sleep or gameplay ever.

@Quan2three You don't need to regularly consume their content but it's always good to know what we are dealing with so we can be better prepared for things like this.

I was just addressing the people loading me up with baldy lore last night after my initial post. I think everyone is inherently a decent person at one point for people to start watching them, and some people go off the deep end into a crater. Thats where we change the channel lol

@Quan2three You'd be surprised, many people started watching him years ago for his high end raiding resources (he used to make guides) and watched less when he pivoted away frm it. Also the ppl still actively watching him aren't the same ones calling out his bs, you're mixing up audiences

I mean it isn't your problem, it was SQEX's for probably being too relaxed on the stance for too long. When was it too much for SQEX? seems like baldys been going at it since dawntrail. Who put him into fame? The SQEX and the XIV community. By listening to him and his content. Who can take it away? The SQEX and the XIV community. By UN-listening to him and his content.

@Quan2three I think "just mute/block" loses it's ability to properly address a situation when that person is in a place of fame/power. If a person in a community is popular and/or relevant you are basically plugging your ears and assuming it will never be your problem, which also sucks imo.

I personally think he has alot of decent takes from some of the videos i recently watched last night from his old content, but action was taken on things that were probably more recent and all it takes is one step over the line to warrant it from SE. yeah sometimes you see people's true colors but its a block button away solving who you see around you. =)

@Quan2three I still have yet to see anything he has said that is remotely close to him being this evil vile horrible person that people claim him to be. My issue with this ban is the FFXIV community mostly. Have you see how unhinged people are with there excitement in his ban?

@drcossackTwitch Yeah it seems it was a very extreme case and one I think does warrant the suspension. It's good to see the possibility of maintaining a good image for the game for newer and older players.

@Quan2three Never watched him, don’t plan to, & only followed his Twitter to see what he said about it. Whether SE can ban like that or not doesn’t mean they SHOULD. It can & will be abused. Not necessarily by GMs, but by anyone w/an axe to grind against certain players, streamers or not.

@Berserker_Jay7 Yeah I think SE is stepping up their IP protection game. They allow him to make content on their game and they can see fit how to deal with it within TOS scope.

@Quan2three This is a sensible take. Im not familiar with Xeno myself. At the end of the day SE can ban/do business with whoever they want. Toxic goes both ways negative and positivity. And both are insufferable. I still dont think it's a good look for SE. People have become very soft.

Maybe you aren't but alot are. Hard to speak for everyone with "none of us". But consuming as in falling for the bait and the rage, and what high end circle? My gf, 3 cats, and 1 dog is my high end circle LOL Who dictates that this baldy sets any sort of precedence?? Why do you put him so high on a pedestal? You literally just set the bar for yourself and no one even agreed too it. I also don't think any person should be calling women or anyone the R word but letting one guy dictate your life and game when he doesn't even think of you at the end of the day is wild to me. I think XIV will be safe with plenty of women with or without him if SQEX. keeps it up so lets leave it up to them.

@Quan2three none of us are consuming his content. Its that he sets a precedence and cultural tone for how things are conducted considering he is well known in high end circles, and we had literally a year ago sfia getting his ass handed to him when asking why there werent more women who raid

Yeah virtue signaling for attention is dumb af. I'm also not a fan of the creators who do it and I already know who in my head does it after being on twitter so long. But it'll forever be a thing to get brownie internet points for attention unfortunately. Enlightened people see thru virtue signaling, and other people kinda just eat it up cuz they need a champion in the darkness. If it brings them hope sure im happy for them, I ain't tryna be that fake hero.

@Quan2three A lot of the vocal XIV "Community" just want something to virtue signal about. "Look at how bad <insert boogyman of the day> is! I hate them, see how righteous I am!" And then they'll go sit in limsa or their fc and be just as if not more toxic than their boogyman.

@GameofSwolls Merging politics and my game is annoying. Don't be part of the problem. Baldy isn't raising our gas prices. Ignoring is the best thing to do cuz not ignoring gives him this exact platform and discussion. Let Sqex handle it, not you.

@Quan2three You don't need to follow everything Donald trump does to be aware of his actions. Ignoring harmful people doesn't make them stop being harmful. Xeno is the trump of 14 and ignoring him isn't the solution.

I agree. At the end of the day, twitter is just another forum outside of reddit. We gonna see the full spectrum of personalities and emotions and that's fine. Just cause there some nutcase waving a sign on the street doesn't mean you have to read it or look at him longer than you have to.

@Quan2three Well whenever I see a comment like this I'm going to tap the sign and remind people that communities like the FFXIV and MMO communities are massive with tons of different voices. Might feel like a lot, might have gotten hundreds of comments, but that's still a very small portion.
