@Quantoadlly @MuelMatthew My 2 cents: I was a NASDAQ market maker during the life cycle of SAC and to say theirs was toxic flow is a laughable understatement. During my time at P72, I never encountered a more compliance-driven organization. The sins were real; so was the scared straight redemption.

During a career that has allowed me to evaluate hundreds of PMs, I have never encountered a more talented PM - in terms of repeatable skills - than Alex Silverstein. In terms of how far his skill readings were above the mean, he is one of one.

Medallion returns for the last few years: 2022: 19% 2023: 25% 2024: 30% 2025 YTD: 20% This is way lower than their historic average. Only their 2001-2005 period was this low. Could be variance, but more often than not it's a sign that quant investing is finally peaking.
