@BeyondNISQ spitting straight 🔥 on the current state of the quantum industry. The hardware is extremely promising but excess hype can mask the true narratives, resulting in more long-term bearishness when promises made by marketing teams go undelivered. That doesn't mean we should ignore quantum though -- quite the opposite. With the hardware making tremendous progress by the day, we now need to be asking ourselves how we can best prepare ourselves for utility-scale quantum computers. This means developing quantum strategies, workforce education, and researching algorithms that translate business problems into real use-cases. The question is no longer: "Is quantum coming?" It's now: "How can I become quantum-ready?" If you're invested in the future of quantum, you definitely want to give this a read.

When the @WhiteHouse signs an executive order to elevate the nation's focus on quantum, it's probably worth paying attention. Here are some of the key takeaways from yesterday's executive order: 1. Quantum Strategy: Within 180 days, the administration will update the national quantum strategy to focus on commercialization, industry partnerships, and the deployment of quantum technologies. 2. Research: In an initiative led by the DOE, the government will be aiming to build their own quantum computer and implement improved benchmarking standards with the aim of better enabling quantum research at the utility scale. 3. Workforce & Supply Chain: The administration will take actions to support component suppliers and identify manufacturing bottlenecks while growing the quantum workforce through recruitment incentives, apprenticeships, and workforce training programs. 4. Quantum Security: By the end of 2030, high-value federal systems must be using post-quantum cryptography for key exchanges. By the end of 2031, these federal systems must be using post-quantum digital signatures. Given all that we've seen this year in the field of quantum, it's undeniable that the future of quantum is approaching faster than many of us are ready for. Just wrapped up an incredible five-week capstone project with @coschoolofmines! Over the course of the project, the team explored how machine learning can be used to predict the runtime and memory requirements of quantum circuits before execution, compiling datasets, benchmarking circuits, and training preliminary models along the way. Their work has massively accelerated the timeline for adding hosted simulation to Open Quantum! A huge thank you to the team for their hard work and contributions throughout the project. Progress update from our @coschoolofmines capstone project. ⚛️ The team has now compiled a dataset of 22k+ quantum circuits from a variety of libraries and generators. Over the past week, they've continued QASM parser development, analyzed preliminary feature correlations, and completed initial benchmarking and testing of quantum circuits. The first rounds of model training are now underway. We've been thrilled to see this project develop over the past few weeks. #SN48 #OpenQuantum
