@ToddWitteles @CollinRugg Also, every time there's a COLA for Social Security, Medicare always increases the premiums. You may end up with $1.30 extra in your pocket each month.

NEW: Internet users have raised $280,000 for an elderly man who became a DoorDash delivery driver to help pay for his and his wife's bills.
A Tennessee woman decided to take matters into her own hands when she saw the man delivering her Starbucks.
"I work because I have to. I don't really want to. I was actually retired, but my wife lost her job at no fault of her own, which also means she lost her health insurance," the man told the customer who tracked him down after seeing him on her Ring camera.
"So by the time we pay our living expenses plus our medical expenses for our medicines, we have nothing left at the end of the month."

@ObtainerOf New York is also one of the few states that do not allow patients to order their own blood work.
English

Last time I went to a doctor I asked for him to test my testosterone just out of curiosity. He said “you don’t need that, you are young and healthy, no symptoms”, I told him I didn’t care and just wanted to know for my own reference. I argued with him for almost ten minutes, he kept trying to dissuade me saying it would cost more and they’d need to take more blood, but he finally agreed. When I got my tests back it was missing test, so I called the office and they said they lost the extra vial of blood. Almost every American has a story of doctors being complete pieces of shit and this profession needs a fucking reality check.

A New York bill would ban AI from answering questions related to several licensed professions like medicine, law, dentistry, nursing, psychology, social work, engineering, and more. The companies would be liable if the chatbots give “substantive responses” in these areas.

@LB199714 @ItsJuliansRum Well you could just wait for Iran to do an Oct 7 on us with their nukes.
English

@ItsJuliansRum Gen X here and neither will I. It’s been like this my entire life. I was duped into thinking Trump was different. Never again will I fall for it.

@Fish_Flakes546 @ItsJuliansRum The E Jean Carroll case resulted in a defamation of character finding, absolutely not rape.
English

@ItsJuliansRum You voted for a 34 time felon convicted of rape 💔

@AdamJSchwarz If you saw the Melania movie you would know she already works with other women leaders around the world in support of children issues.

@gotrice2024 It usually not the event that just happened but rather a series of events that preceded it and this was the tipping point. I might have reacted the same way if chocolate squirted everywhere. And yes ,I have paper towels in my car. Because “chocolate” happens.
English

This woman was having a rough day and needed to indulge a little. So she reaches for her emergency chocolate syrup that she keeps in the car and gives it a shake to mix it up. It sprays all over her and her car. After the initial shock wears off she starts venting about everything that has gone wrong for her this year, she states now her clothes and her car is ruined and doesn’t know what to do about it.
Is it possible she just had too much on her mind and this was the icing on the cake, or is this generation too fragile with their emotions because chocolate syrup will wash out of her clothes and her car?

@GeriPerna @WellsFargo My friends lost $15k cash in a scam. Altho the credit union asked what for and raised legitimate concerns, my friends ignored them and withdrew the $. When they realized it was a scam too late, the police said they had already had a dozen calls that week for the same thing
English

I have to VENT! Yesterday, my guy went to @WellsFargo in Florida to withdraw 7k, in cash. The teller called the manager over, and he asked what he was using the money for. My guy said, how is this any of your business? The manager said, we are required to ask. Then he told him he would have to come back tomorrow. My friend went to @TDBank_US in NJ today to withdraw 3k, and the teller asked her what she was using it for. My friend was furious and refused to tell her. WHAT IS GOING ON? THIS IS OUR MONEY! We earned it, paid taxes on it, and it we want to take it home and burn it, we can do that! Has anyone else experienced this?

@libsoftiktok I always think of the Gollum character when I see this guy

@V_Lady2024 @CherokeeOwl I think part of the problem is we memorized our times tables. I don’t think they memorize times tables today

People talk about birth certificates as if there’s just one copy you have to keep safe. In reality, a government agency keeps a record of your birth and will issue unlimited certified copies upon request.
In Gavin’s case, the issuing office is in San Francisco City Hall, just downstairs from his former office. Maybe next time he goes to visit the bust of himself that he installed there, he can pick up a copy.

Western Lensman@WesternLensman
Gavin Newsom tells Jim Clyburn that he’d have trouble complying with the SAVE Act because he doesn’t know where to find his birth certificate: “You've got to find your birth certificate. I have no clue where mine is." Good lord. Just beyond parody.

@Dedwrinkle @gotrice2024 They STOLE the pen. Doesn’t matter the value, stealing is stealing.
English

@gotrice2024 The restaurant provides the pens for people to sign their receipts. If she brought her favorite pink pen from home to use and lost it. Should have learned a lesson t leave your shit at home
English

This woman was servings couple during her shift at a restaurant, she gives them great service but at the end, they tipped her $5 on a $95 bill. Then they had the nerve to steal her expensive pink pen that she had to pay for herself. Already irritated at the low tip she was determined to get her pen back.
She politely asks them for her pen and they deny ever taking it, even suggesting maybe it fell on the floor. She then walks right back in the building and even looks them up on camera to confirm they took her pen and comments that they aren’t welcome back.
Is she taking it too far by trying to get them banned for taking her pen, don’t people take pens all the time?

This young woman explains why Chicago residents didn’t protest or riot against ICE the way people did in Los Angeles or Minneapolis.
She says that while working security at an aid office, black residents began noticing that illegal immigrants, particularly Venezuelans, were filling the office every day, had a separate line, couldn’t speak English, and were receiving much larger amounts of assistance than Chicago residents who pay taxes. The differences in treatment and benefits shaped the community’s reaction.
“When they came, they were getting $3K–$4K in LINK and cash, all types of aid from the government. Meanwhile, real citizens who pay taxes were begging for $100 a month in LINK.”
“Y’all know black people talk sh*t, so everybody in the office because it’s two separate lines for the immigrants and the citizens, and there are like a million people outside the offices every morning would notice. They’d be like, “All these motherfvckers here, they’re getting this much money and they’re getting this.” I saw somebody leave a receipt with that balance on it. They’d do a bunch of that, so everybody knew what the Venezuelans had going on, and everyone was getting enraged by it.”

@eurofounder So if a sketch artist was getting a description you’d have a blank face?

I witnessed a stabbing in Berlin city center today
Police pulled me aside
"Can you describe the attacker?"
"Tall. Maybe 180cm. Black jacket."
"What was his ethnicity?"
"I'm sorry?" I asked, shocked at this racially motivated question
"Was he white? Black? Arab?"
"I don't see how that's relevant" I replied
"You're right" the officer agreed, and closed his notebook
"I hope you find whoever did this using non-discriminatory policing methods" I said
Justice will come. But it must come without bias
The quiet racism of law enforcement is never an answer

@Rainmaker1973 That AND my grandma’s number too. (Had to memorize it in case of an emergency and I needed to call her)
