My super strong parenting opinion is that while the kids are awake, you come last. No spending all of Saturday golfing. That’s family time. 6 am tee time only, maybe. Wanna go to the gym? Go after the kids go to bed, or wake up at 5. In a few short years, they’ll be out of the house and you’ll have all the time in the world for your own stuff. It’s okay to come last for a while.

During the Obama presidency, a comment on Jezebel said something akin to “what if feminists of our generation spent more time safeguarding Roe and less time writing about how getting your face ejaculated on is empowering?” The prescience lives rent free in my head.

According to reports, these attacks are becoming quite challenging for Israel, because a single missile breaks into dozens of sub-munitions and causes damage at different locations.
Israel’s Iron Dome system is mostly designed to intercept single-target missiles, but in cluster-type attacks, multiple targets are created at once, making interception difficult.
One missile, but impact in many places… and that is what makes this strategy dangerous.

@_carmen_dioxide The reason we lost Roe isn’t because people online talked about empowerment too much. It’s because Obama didn’t pressure RBG to resign and was so sure Hillary would win he didn’t force McConnell to replace Scalia with someone good. Not everything is social forces.

My dad's not here to defend himself, but this was not his view. He grew up during WW2 & had very old-school ideas about loyalty, & his view of Ian Smith was heavily animated by Smith having flown with the RAF against the Nazis in Britain's hour of need.
Note that Reagan in 1978 wasn't arguing for restoring white-run Rhodesia but for keeping Mugabe from overturning the new multiracial government along racial lines, which he did with tragic consequences.
