@NormOrnstein 90% of Americans are already registered to vote so this doesn't apply to them. The rest....they need the same documentation they would need to fill out an I9...you know...to get a job. So what's the issue?

A stupid and biased question at this moment. This bill is not about a photo ID. None of the photo IDs they are talking about will allow people to vote. They have to prove citizenship, going in person to an office with passport or certified birth certificate. It’s about a poll tax.

Not true Ted. Kansas adopted a version of the SAVE Act (need a passport or birth certificate), and it prevented 12% of eligible applicants (38,000) from registering to vote over two years before t was struck down. Thousands of nice, white, Christian and clean folks from Kansas were denied the right to vote..

A) a passport
OR
B) a birth certificate and ID

You can use REAL ID for all these actions. However under @BasedMikeLee bs bill you can not register to vote just using REAL ID.

@BiatchDulce It's for registration, not for voting and 90% of people are already registered, so the other 10% would have to produce the same stuff they would need to fill out an I9 for employment. Hope this helps.

I’m all for requiring voters to show ID at the polls, I mean every time I voted I had to show my drivers license & voters registration card to vote.
But according to the SAVE Act drivers licenses alone cannot be used.
So this means people will need a passport to vote, especially women with name changes.
And if that’s the plan, the federal government should issue those passports for free.
It’s simple math: 174 million voters × $160 per passport = $27.84 billion.
That’s a bargain when you consider a single month of endless war in Iran runs about $44 billion.
Otherwise, it’s a poll tax, plain and simple.

The Constitution does not guarantee a right to work. It doesn't guarantee a right to a beer at 21. The Constitution doesn't guarantee a right to board a plane.
