Man I just saw the craziest sight here in Vancouver. Some guy at the Shoppers Drug Mart filled up a shopping basket absolutely full of candies and chips and other snacks and things and then just confidently strolled right out the front door. I told the old guy stocking the shelves, and he was like, “yeah and that’s not even the worst. I once saw someone walk out with a 50 inch TV.” He said sometimes the security guards do something, if they are authorized to make arrests, but usually not. He was from the Philippines. “Canadian law says you can’t touch them or that’s assault. Back home the guards have guns and they’d just shoot them.”

@MasterMaliq I would hope so. However; What happens when a Muslim man punches a woman cop in the face on camera goes to trail who is obviously guilty. Would Muslims on a jury refuse to convict because of fear of retribution by the community or will they do the right thing and vote guilty?

Many Muslims already criticise extremists and reject their ideology openly. But expecting ordinary Muslims to “earn acceptance” by constantly apologising for criminals they have nothing to do with is unfair. A community should be judged by how the majority lives, not by the worst people who abuse its name.

Muslims are not dangerous. We are human beings like everyone else, with families, love, care, and ordinary lives. Our faith teaches compassion, not hatred. Our Prophet taught respect and mercy. Yes, there are a few extremists who distort our religion and bring shame to it, but they do not represent the vast majority of Muslims. So why is it that many still get profiled and treated as suspects? Is it fear, or hate?
