@RHPD8645 @RockChartrand Ever heard of anarchocapitalists? They're as capitalist as one can get short of Eugene Crabs and they're pretty far removed from conservatism.

Rebranding Animal Farm as “anti capitalist” isn’t interpretation, it’s revision. The entire story is about a revolution promising equality that collapses into hierarchy, propaganda, and rule by pigs who become indistinguishable from the tyrants they replaced. If your takeaway is that it’s really about capitalism, you didn’t reinterpret the message, you inverted it. This is exactly how ideology protects itself: When reality contradicts it, rewrite the warning instead of confronting the outcome.

@RHPD8645 @Fred00738342098 @plantationdrip Considering a black man is significantly more likely to kill a White man than vice versa... None of that changes the fact that blacks have killed more Whites in the last ten years than every lynching in US history combined.

I have "The Republic" and many other political books like Tomas Hobbes "Leviathan," John Lock's, "Second Treatise of Government," Tocqueville's "Democracy in America," John Stuart Mill's "On Liberty, and many more all on Kindle. I save a lot of money that way. "And this, as I imagine, is the reason why the forwardness to take office, instead of waiting to be compelled, has been deemed dishonourable. Now the worst part of the punishment is that he who refuses to rule is liable to be ruled by one who is worse than himself. And the fear of this, as I conceive, induces the good to take office, not because they would, but because they cannot help—not under the idea that they are going to have any benefit or enjoyment themselves, but as a necessity, and because they are not able to commit the task of ruling to any one who is better than themselves, or indeed as good." Plato. The Republic (p. 18). (Function). Kindle Edition. I can't stand how our own representatives don't understand the Republic they help govern. I honestly believe some people simply like telling others what to do.

For those so inclined, the passage is drawn from The Republic, Book I, 347c–e. Here Socrates sets forth the reason why the best men enter political life. Rule proceeds from capacity. Those who possess the ability to govern cannot withdraw from responsibility without permitting a greater injustice, namely, the rule of inferior men over matters they do not understand. Authority is thus assumed as a guardianship of the good. The just man accepts rule from necessity, taking command as a burden proper to his nature. Political rule appears here not as ambition, but as obligation, borne by those fit to carry it. Greek (Stephanus): τιμωρία γάρ ἐστι τοῖς ἀγαθοῖς μὴ ἐθέλουσιν ἄρχειν τὸ ὑπὸ χειρόνων ἄρχεσθαι. My translation: “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you come to be governed by your inferiors.”

Hasan Piker hopes Republicans get killed or is, at best, totally indifferent to that prospect. I don't know how to interpret this ultra-hypberolic rhetoric, in the context of our current political climate and Hasan's past statements inciting violence, other than that. Yet he is a welcome figure or outright darling of much of left-of-center media.
Marco Foster@MarcoFoster_

Hasan Piker: “I hate Republicans. The Republicans are far more damaging. The biggest terrorist internationally is the Republican party. I want to fight against the growing fascist movement in this country. My frustration with the Democrats is their conciliatory attitude towards that. You say Donald Trump is a dangerous force, but then you turn around and take on his anti-immigrant narratives from 2020”

@brad_polumbo Republicans are totally indifferent to whom they think are illegals getting killed. They don’t care if woman get killed during unnecessary pregnancies? They are indifferent to minorities being killed, indifferent to people who can’t access healthcare being killed…

@RockChartrand Can’t have capitalism without conservatism. That’s who I see trying to pretend this popular novel is on their favor. Bunch of dumb assholes with a smug grin of their face “lol, communism is bad” without really understanding the time or place of which it was written.

Yes! You should have conversations with people you disagree with … as long as you challenge them on the points on which you disagree. For example, perhaps you could ask Hasan Piker about why he insults women by calling them “old” and suggests they suck his dick.

@RHPD8645 @Fred00738342098 @plantationdrip According to the NAACP there have been under 5,000 lynchings in all US history, and not all the victims were black. For context, blacks have killed more White people than that just since 2016.
