'who are not in any meaningful way harassing other people' doing quite a bit of work there Stewart. Women who are having an abortion have a right to privacy. Those who wish to pray have a right to pray- buffer zones balance that. I'm proud that we have done that to uphold both rights.

Buffer zones don't ban prayer. They balance the right of those who want to oppose abortion with those who want to access one without being harassed to use the same space at the same time. Banning public prayer from Trafalgar square because you demonise those doing it isn't balance as theres no contest for the use of the space. So this is only an issue if you don't see women or muslims as having rights...

There is a devastating scandal brewing in Wales... a teenage boy is among 21 people being tested for HIV and hepatitis after unsterilised surgical tools and equipment were used on patients at an NHS hospital. The boy was only told about the error three weeks after a procedure at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport. Hospital bosses knew about the mistake days after it happened, but the family weren't informed until a whistleblower dressed in medical scrubs and a surgical mask delivered a letter to the family home urging them to get in touch. I am very wary of reports that the UK is now within range of Iranian ballistic missiles. But if the reports are true, let’s be in no doubt: the UK has no defences against such missiles. No dedicated national ballistic missile defence (BMD) system for intercepting intermediate- or intercontinental-range threats aimed at the homeland. No ground-based interceptors (like US THAAD or Patriot systems in Europe) deployed in Britain for this purpose. In theory our T-45 warships could provide some cover. But most are currently undeployable or not in UK waters. Leaving us defenceless from ballistic missile attack. Another massive military failure of the political class of all recent governments.
