I don't usually weigh in on internet drama, but when someone with a massive platform attacks something that shaped my entire life, I can't stay silent. A well-known commentator recently went on a tirade against Chabad. I won't give him the satisfaction of a mention, but I will give you the reality of what Chabad actually is. Without Chabad and the Rebbe’s guidance, I wouldn't be the entrepreneur I am today. Period. Let me show you the ROI of a community that some choose to villainize: • My very first business? Started because of an idea from a friend I met at Chabad. • The launch of Zing? I met a billionaire at Chabad who looked me in the eye and inspired me to finally pursue my dreams. • Our first major client? Someone I met through the Chabad network. Beyond the business metrics, I think about the Rabbis—men I am proud to call my friends—who show up for Jews (and non-Jews) all over the world without asking for a dime in return. I’ve brought my non-Jewish friends to Chabad houses. They weren't met with judgment; they were welcomed with open arms and a seat at the table. To attack an organization that builds people up is a low move. It’s a sign of someone who has no idea what they are talking about. When you have a national platform, you have a responsibility to seek truth over clicks. Chabad changed my life. It changed my career. And it continues to change the world for the better. If you’ve ever had a community or a mentor change your trajectory, don't let the noise drown out their impact. PS: I usually write about scaling brands and building Zing, but some things are more important than business. If you value authenticity and growth, feel free to follow along.

Our agency had the second and third-place finishers at the USATF Half Marathon Championships yesterday, Carrie Ellwood and Annie Rodenfels, respectively. I am gutted for the athletes impacted by the on-course mishap and for the Atlanta Track Club team. I also understand the precarious position this places USATF, given their published selection criteria for the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Copenhagen this September. The USATF selection procedures state that the top three finishers at the National Championships will earn automatic selection to the World Championships, with one additional at-large spot going to the top-ranked athlete in the World Athletics global rankings (full criteria below). Should any athlete on the podium decline, USATF will then fill those spots by order of finish, up to the fifth position. Earlier today, I had conversations with both Carrie and Annie. Both athletes prefer that the rightful team of Jess McClain, Emma Grace Hurley, and Ednah Kurgat be named to the team representing the Stars & Stripes, as it was a foregone conclusion that they had the team spots locked up, given their lead and proximity to the finish. I’ve had conversations with USATF today as well and understand by selecting those three they would be going against their selection criteria, as Jess (ninth), Emma (twelfth), and Ednah (thirteenth) finished outside the top-five designation. There is the spirit of the law and the letter of the law. The spirit of the selection criteria is to send the strongest possible team to the global championships, that spirit should win out here. Doing the right thing matters, and as a former athlete who has been on both sides of lead vehicle snafus—as the beneficiary (New Haven, 2000), and as the punished (Air Force Marathon 13.1, 2011)—I understand what the athletes are going through now. This is an opportunity for USATF to name Jess, Emma, and Ednah to Team USA. Should any of them decline, Carrie and Annie would happily step in, be ready roll, and do our country proud. 🇺🇸 I want to thank USATF for making this such a priority at this time. They're working hard on a solution, and I'm sure we’ll have one in short order. (Photo: Annie and Carrie in a gratuitous post-race doping control shot #CleanSport)

Jeff Galloway, a 1972 U.S. Olympian and beloved coach, but perhaps best known for teaching the world that slowing down was the secret to going further, has died at the age of 80. 🕊️ His revolutionary run-walk-run method (affectionately known around the world as “Jeffing”) transformed marathon running from an elite pursuit into something beautifully ordinary, accessible to anyone willing to lace up their shoes. He survived a devastating heart attack in 2021, where his heart stopped for four and a half minutes before five stents brought him back. Doctors credited his decades of endurance training with helping keep him alive. True to form, he responded not by resting on his laurels, but by relearning to walk and then planned to return to the marathon. Before an injury forced him to scratch from last December’s Honolulu Marathon, Galloway was set to become the first person to complete a marathon in eight consecutive decades. He was planning to return in 2026. “My mission now, at the age of 80-plus, is to show that people can do things that are normally not done, and can do them safely,” he told The New York Times last month. Galloway’s Book on Running is considered probably the best-selling running coaching book of all time. Jeff Galloway opened up running to everyone. He is survived by every single person who ever doubted themselves, took their first step and made it to the other side of a finish line that they initially didn’t think would be possible. ♥️

Talk to strangers: Might’ve been the best meal of the trip so far. Ended up chatting with a fellow UMass Alumn who was celebrating his 80th birthday today. Turns out he was a 1972 🇺🇸 Olympian in speed skating, and we grew up 10 miles from each other, 2700 miles from here. So fun

THIS LEAGUE! 😤 Another great day at the races with @GrandSlamTrack: Miami as four $100,000 checks were cut to new Slam champions — including one to Josh Kerr who flipped the script from his 7th place showing in Kingston to walk away with the title here. Thanks to all who tuned in on @peacock and @TheCW! We have ONE MORE DAY of action with the broadcast set to start at 3 p.m. ET.

Boston did not disappoint! Truly a remarkable marathon experience + to see an entire city so proud of their event & the camaraderie & community it builds - inspiring stuff. The course is definitely tougher than it looks "Net downhill" but with many grinding 3-5% uphills that wear the legs down. Grateful to have had a great experience out there & ran close to my CIM time which is a win!
