May 13th 2025 Letter to my Mam Three years today since you left, Mam and not a day goes by that I don't think about you. It still hurts so deeply; the grief & sense of loss never goes away. We just learn to carry it, carry on & cope as best we can. I still cry; sometimes daily; often weekly. I always try to wear a smile but the pain of your loss lingers behind my eyes. A memory pops up, a thought in my head, a picture from the past; a song on the radio reminds me of you. The ache of your absence never truly fades—often I feel rudderless, drifting with still a space in my heart that only you could ever fill. We were so close. I miss our talks, your warmth, your laughter. I miss our bond & I miss our friendship; often still reaching for the phone just wanting to hear your voice for our daily chat. Thank you for the love, the strength, and the memories that carry me through. I'm trying my best in life & I hope I'm doing you proud. This beautiful May day photo in 2022 when the sun shone down will always be eched with me. It shines down today too so hopefully you're smiling on us all. I hope you know how deeply you’re missed and how much you’re still loved. Until we meet again x
