I agree with not getting complacent, and I agree with trusting John. But the initial response of stating not knowing how John GM’s is where I had the issue. Being that accusatory came off poorly. Sam could be here for another 4-5 years, or another 8-10 years depending on play. He is young still and statistically is a top 10 QB. My initial point was Milroe if he wants to be a starter will likely need to go elsewhere other than the Seahawks, and I stand by that point.

I couldn’t disagree more with this… Thinking Milroe could already be on the way out would be a huge mistake, in my opinion. Seattle already invested one full year developing him… and probably another one coming too. And honestly, if after 2 years inside Seattle’s system they still don’t see starter potential in a QB with Milroe’s physical tools… his trade value in 2027 could actually be HIGHER than it is right now in 2026. Also, with Seattle possibly holding around 12 draft picks in 2027, there’s zero reason to rush anything. I believe he could be a starter…elsewhere. The Seahawks could have Sam Darnold for the next 8-10 years. Darnold is still young. Milroe would not want to wait, would not want to become the next Taysom Hill, nor should he. Darnold is a top 10 QB talent. When a team has that, they ride with it. Darnold could develop into the next Matthew Stafford. If Milroe wants a chance to start, he will need to look outside of Seattle, and hopefully it goes well. Alabama QB’s have a mixed result in the NFL. It’s either Joe Namath/Ken Stabler/Bart Starr, to today in Hurts/Tua/Bryce Young/Mac Jones. Most successful recently is Jalen Hurts and people still criticize him, and he has won the Lombardi! Milroe, to succeed, would need to go to a team with a good OL, a good QB coach, and probably an offensive minded HC.
