@bill31207829776 I’m a doctor, not yet specialised but hoping to do psych. I’m also a patient - I’ve been sectioned under the MHA before The MHA can be vital for when people aren’t in a state to make a decision whether take meds or not. Being forced to take medication saved my life personally

It’s disgusting and it’s horrific. I don’t give a camel’s twat what anybody says, giving any more powers to the evil, sick and twisted scum that work in MH services will only result in more abuse of patients. They’re only thing that will improve MH services is to sack the evil bastards that routinely abuse people in the most horrific manner and consistently get away with it by lying that the person is “very unwell”. Utter bollocks! Nobody should be able to force treatment on any other human for any fcuking reason. Where it’s allowed is where you find the worst abusers on this fucking planet. Scum. The new Mental Health Act, which sets the rules when someone needs care in a mental health crisis, is finally law.  The 2025 Act aims to give more control and dignity to people who are sectioned, and reduce unfair treatment and unequal outcomes, particularly for Black men.  Ultimately, the Act's success depends on mental health being prioritised and getting sufficient funding, from prevention to care, to treat people who are unwell in the way they deserve.
