In advance of the upcoming general conference leadership session (April 2, 2026), The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced upcoming adjustments to the Sunday class meeting schedule to support members in their efforts to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. The adjustments will strengthen gospel learning in homes and congregations throughout the world. Beginning September 6, 2026, the alternating weekly schedule for Sunday School and quorum or class meetings will be replaced. Under the updated schedule: • Sunday School, Relief Society, elders quorum, Young Women and Aaronic Priesthood quorum meetings will be held each week. • Sacrament meeting will continue to be 60 minutes, followed by brief transition periods. • Sunday School and quorum and class meetings will each be 25 minutes. • Primary will continue every Sunday and will be 55 minutes, held while adults and youth attend their respective classes. • Where local circumstances necessitate, units may begin with Primary and quorum and class meetings and conclude with sacrament meeting. @AmericanSisu @joyinbecomingp1 But the main failure of parenting is selfishness. So my point stands. I can make peace if my church meetings aren't fulfilling; I will forget my needs as a member if it means letting more focus be on helping children and youth (my own included).

I would say the youth this is a positive change. There is more structure happening for them. But adults need just as much structure. And my biggest concern is how this will affect the social connecting as a ward aspect.....can we not have more focus on fellowshipping? I am curious if the Church leadership notices these things or is it a concern for them? I just wish there was more focus on connecting with each other and we really haven't had that focus since we had 3 hour block times.

This new church schedule solves so many problems people are not realizing. I've been hearing people concerned that 25 minutes per class isn't enough time, and that is a valid concern. However, I think this could be a game changer for the YOUTH.

@AmericanSisu @joyinbecomingp1 I agree with you in theory. You are right. But parents really suck right now. Some parents may be a lost cause. But the kids are still malleable. There's also a huge disconnect between generations as foretold in scripture.

@joyinbecomingp1 Class time changes has no bearing on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The way I see it, it is a trivial matter at best; there is nothing wrong with having opinions as long as we still support the Brethren. Perhaps we should be more careful with how we express these opinions on X tho.

I am realizing that many Latter Day Saints on here only support you if you follow all the rules and never question anything or have any genuine struggles when change happens. I really wish everyone well and will continually pray for you but I think I need to make some changes. I will continue to donate tithing and fast offerings and will live the gospel as faithfully as I can.

If we don’t drop announcements (which go out in a newsletter anyway), we will have 15 minutes in RS. And if that’s used with the teacher starting out with a story before even getting to the lesson, guys, I don’t see a reason to go… We’re going to have to get to the meat faster.

@busy_bee_me I try my best but it can get pretty unruly. Lots of openly contradicting scripture. Lots of asking why Heavenly Mother isn't visible. Lots of talking about new age psychology and offering it as a lesson. I brought up the birth rate once and you could hear a pin drop.

@Hashboz RS is low-hanging fruit. I should repent. I only go to be able to say I attend all of my meetings. I don't get much out of it, and sometimes it seems like a battlefield. I don't know how to fix RS. But admittedly I don't think I can offer a good diagnosis due to my own biases.

Why didn’t Candace go to Charlie’s memorial, huh? I just find it really INTERESTING that if they were as close as she claims they were, that she wouldn’t want to be there. Like they were practically BEST FRIENDS, right? What could possibly have been more IMPORTANT to do that day THAN to go to her best friend’s MEMORIAL when he was being honored by the PRESIDENT of the United States? It’s almost like something someone with a guilty CONSCIENCE would do. Like someone who was involved in his ASSASSINATION. I’m just asking questions. And I just find it really INTERESTING.

@microsamonomics @BlackBlessedLDS Youth leaders encouraging testimonies is different than having a counselor in the bishopric ask you to speak. Missionaries have to speak in Church all the time. Definitely good practice.

@RachelGooc90575 @BlackBlessedLDS So have the youth leaders ask them to get up and speak during testimony meeting? Missionary work is conversation based. I think there are better ways to prepare for missions than monotone public speaking when sacrament meeting is supposed to be the most sacred hour of the week.
