@louteasdale If the votes are aligned to manifesto pledges then MPs are expected to vote along with the pledge. Otherwise the government mandate holds no value. If it’s a vote for something not aligned with the manifesto they can sometimes go against the whip but that can get them in bother

Can someone pls explain this to me. Mp’s can’t vote because they lose their position if they vote against the power. How that is democratic? What’s the point in the vote?
