1/2 Case story 🧠 Headache, vomiting, confusion + fever. CT head normal. MRI showed bilateral thalamic–basal ganglia signal abnormality with hippocampal involvement/enhancement. Trap: fever + deep gray lesions can mimic viral encephalitis.

The use of AI-generated image slop to make a teaching point about an imaging diagnosis only adds noise for learners who are trying to build their visual pattern recognition. We should call it out when we see it. Radiology educators should value authentic images.

@nirmalregency My message is more of a question than a statement 😅. In all the cases I’ve seen, the microbleeds affected the white matter more prominently and were not associated with subarachnoid hemorrhage !

Do you know the difference between Optic perineuritis (OPN) and Optic neuritis (ON)? OPN is a orbital inflammatory disease characterized by inflammation of the optic nerve sheath. It is associated with infections or inflammatory diseases like Temporal arteritis, Sarcoidosis or vasculitis. OPN shows a 'tram-track' sign on Contrast axial images and a 'Donut' sign on coronal imaging. Optic neuritis, which is more common, involves only the myelin sheath of the optic nerve in classic CNS demyelinating diseases like. MS, NMO or MOG. ON shows a more uniform enhancement of the optic nerve
