Thanks Jedi! Acquiring Mortal by XCOPY is a significant moment for any digital art collector and today I’m proud to say I actually hold one in my personal collection. I fell in love with this piece as soon as I saw it but didn’t think I’d ever get a chance to actually own one. It was a long road to get to this point and something I’ll hopefully get to share another day. @CozomoMedici shared some wise and succinct words earlier this year in a post which simply read “Crypto Art = XCOPY”, and I wholeheartedly agree, and for me XCOPY = Mortal. XCOPY represents digital art and is one of the most important artists, digital or traditional, of my generation. The culture he represents and the community that grew and built organically around the artist and his incredible body of work are amazing and will transcend time. To play just a small part in this adventure, and be forever recorded for it on the blockchain, was a very rare opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. Owning this incredible piece alongside the great collectors Cozomo, @punk4156, @punk4945, @RaoulGMI, @33GALLERY and one other (IYKYK) is truly an honour. Thank you @eli_schein for the unreal detective work and persistence to help me unlock this one as well as to the seller for agreeing to part with this grail. I’ll leave you to share the story properly but safe to say its a fun one which involved, speaking to the current owners, researching ETHERSCAN and transaction histories, finding an intermediary, tracking down the contact info for that intermediary person, who then was able in turn to reach out to the private owner! Amazing man! Thanks @jediwolf for the all the honest and transparent advice along my XCOPY journey so far. Last and most important of all thank you @XCOPYART for inspiring us all with your art!
