This has been happening for decades. I have been voicing this out from the day I was working in TCS way back in 2008. TCS cleverly planned the salary increments in such a way that none of the pay hikes comes from the balance sheet. One year, one employee gets it once he/she gets a high rating. Next year, if he/she does not get that rating equally or better than previous years, TCS reduces their salary. That reduced salary goes to another employee and so on and so forth. By this way, TCS efficiently manages the pay hikes between employees and nowhere does the salary hikes comes from the balance sheets. Way back in 2010, when I voiced it in the town hall, they employed an agency to do the survey and even in that I voiced out my opinion. Result - just as any other survey they do, it went into the bureaucratic black hole (I’ll write about this in a separate thread soon - this TCS bureaucracy will put our babu’s to shame). To sum it up, there is nothing new to be astonished at. It’s TCS’s way of life. 😇😇😇

As soon as summer starts, I got my AC serviced. The technician came, cleaned it with water, and then the same old script began: “Ma’am, the gas has leaked.” “The valve is leaking.” “There’s a hole in the coil.” And then the bill: ₹350 for cleaning ₹2000 for gas refill ₹1500 for valve Total: ₹4000 every year, for each AC. I asked, “How does the gas leak every single year?” He replied, “There’s a drain nearby, that’s why the gas leaks.” But there is no drain near my house. Then he said, “It has an aluminum coil, and the heat is too much.” I said, “But it has a 5-year warranty. You said nothing would happen.” He replied, “The compressor is fine, but the coil has a hole.” So I asked, “What about the warranty?” He said, “Ma’am, gas can leak anytime. There’s no warranty for that.” This isn’t just a story about an AC. It’s about a system that somehow always makes you feel like you’re at fault. कल ब्लिंकिट से कुछ ऑर्डर किया था। 50-55 साल के अंकल आए डिलीवरी देने। बातों ही बातों में इनका नाम पूछा! अंकल ने अपना नाम राकेश शर्मा बताया बातचीत के दौरान मैंने पूछा कि इतनी उम्र में ये सब। अंकल ने शालीनता के साथ जो बोला वो दिल को छू गया, इन्होंने कहा कि - डबल ड्यूटी करता हूँ। ये सब नहीं करूँगा तो बच्चों को पढ़ाऊँगा कैसे? सरकार के लिए हम सरकारी अछूत जैसे हैं। सरकार ना हमारे बच्चों को पढ़ाई के लिए स्कालरशिप देती ना ही ऐसी कोई योजना है जिसका लाभ लेकर बच्चे पढ़ाई कर सकें। इसलिए मैं भी कमाता हूँ और बच्चा भी पढ़ाई के साथ जॉब करता है मुझे आज तक नहीं समझ आया कि जब हर वर्ग-समाज यहाँ तक कि मुस्लिम-ईसाई-बौद्ध तक के बच्चों को सरकार स्कालरशिप देती है तो फिर सामान्य वर्ग के गरीब बच्चों के लिए ये योजना क्यों नहीं?

Parents who let their underage children drive 4-wheelers need to be put behind bars. This is the only way we can stop mindless accidents that are claiming lives on Indian roads every day. In this particular case, a 42-year-old businessman named , Srinivas Tandle was riding his cycle on Kaylan Ring Road near Mumbai on Tuesday (24th March). A 17-year-old underage boy rammed his car into the victim, leading to the latter's death. The accused fled the crime scene but was apprehended the next day. The boy did not buy this 4-wheeler. His parents bought it. They allowed him to go on a joy ride. And the result is deadly! There is a reason why minors do not have voting rights or are not allowed to drive vehicles. It is because they lack the decision-making skills needed for their age. But irresponsible parents regularly endanger the lives of others by handing bike/ car keys to their underage children. Such parents need exemplary punishment. #accident #rashdriving

Jayaraj kept his mobile shop open past 9pm during lockdown. Police came. Took him away. His son Bennix heard about it and rushed to the station to check on his father. They let him in. Then locked the door. Both were stripped. Tied down on a wooden table. Beaten with lathis every 10 minutes through the night. Their blood splattered the walls. The next morning police took them to a doctor who gave them a fitness certificate. Then to a magistrate who remanded them to jail without even looking at them properly. Bennix died on June 22. Jayaraj died on June 23. Yesterday a court found all 9 police officers guilty of murder. It took 6 years. Sentencing is on March 30. The FIR said Jayaraj and Bennix rolled on the ground and used obscene language. CCTV from the shop next door showed nothing of that sort happened. The case against them was completely fabricated. They died for a crime they never committed.
