Said it to myself as soon as the international break ended, Sunderland’s bubble has burst. They play a lot of rock & roll, hit & hope football which is heavily dependent on their support, not sustainable IMO for a full season. They’ve lost their momentum before the derby.

@Capt_Fishpaste Hall, Gordon and Tonali. The rest are a bunch of wet blankets. Can't defend and they barely laid a glove on a back 5 that was missing 4 starters. They have a much deeper squad though, obviously.

Do Newcastle have better players? I'm taking Brobbey over their strikers any day. I'm taking Alderate over Burn, Mukiele over Livramento. I'm definitely taking Roefs over either of their keepers. Midfield pretty comparable. Ballard at least comparable to their best CB. Newcastle's squad is better and they have some brilliant players, but man for man on both their best days, I'm not seeing much in it at all.

This is why no genuine Newcastle fan wanted them back up mind, win a couple of derbies and start running their mouths like they’re prime PSG or Barca, almost like double relegations, league one, nearly a decade out the big lads league, and crying on Netflix never even happened.

Mackems hate the harsh reality of this. Our squad is better than theirs, it’s as simple as that. Spurs beat Man City every year, doesn’t mean they’re a better side. Sunderland are having a new PL season bounce, they are feeding off the excitement of being back in the top league. But it’s unsustainable with the players they have. It’ll wear off next season no doubt. I also still think quality will prevail come May and we will finish above them once again, despite it being their best season in 20 odd years. No need to panic my fellow mags 🖤🤍
