So ridiculous.
I’ve studied a wide variety of martial arts over the last 50 years and hold instructor ranks in 14.
Martial arts, no matter what you learn, are front loaded on strength and how often you practice. If you aren’t practicing every week, you’re ngmi.
Martial arts are horse shit unless you practice constantly.
Pepper spray is marginal. Knives are great, guns better
So, the "experts" they went to are... People who teach Krav Maga.
Did they not for a second think that there's a conflict there? They sell an alternative.
But if you're sixty, or in a wheelchair, or whatever, pepper spray works. Krav Maga doesn't.

@IanRunkle Iknow a guy that studied Krav MAGA for years 1 day we sparred together me a mixture of multiple martial arts mostly revised into a Karate form of Open hand but with an art of war twist as open hand is not written in stone so I tossed him around as he had no idea what I would do
@Mcred9@albertaNDP@PeteMossmulch And FYI left leaning tend to vote more often than Conservatives… so with that metric the majority that did not show up were probably more conservative leaning.
@RantingCanadian@albertaNDP@PeteMossmulch More like squeak by.
Only 60% of eligible voters showed up- and smith won with 51%.
She won’t be so lucky next year. She has very little wiggle room- and she’s crashing.
Notley and smith were not a choice any Albertan wanted to make- both are failures. Low voter turnout.
Danielle Smith can jet off to Saudi Arabia in the middle of a teachers’ strike on a secret, foreign-funded private plane, but calls programs for disabled Albertans and seniors “overly generous.” That tells you everything.
@SJKennett@nut_meggy@nenshi Probably not but such is socialist ideals a Russian friend of mine back in the Soviet days had a family member that could not get a wheelchair because he could not walk into he observation clinic so he crawled in and they they said he was mobile enough that he did not need one.
My first thought was the shottie and as someone else pointed out just cycling the pump would scare off most intruders. But I'd probably still go for the rifle in case there were multiple invaders. I kinda feel like the shotgun would be messy too and it's always me that has to clean crap up 😂
@tompfoster@Geniustechw Here in Canada the insurance covers that and I think victim services if it is ruled justified. Because you really have no rights in Canada unless you are a criminal.
@tompfoster@Geniustechw I run 8 rounds in 5 seconds and that is high brass slugs… short bead I could be faster and I do not miss… don’t get me wrong there I have multiple 5.56 rifles but shotgun is what scares people in my hands… it is experience I know a 5 foot zip 90 lb woman that can out gun me
There are more than 50 people at the @edmontonpolice Commission meeting at @CityofEdmonton City Hall today. It’s standing room only. #yeg 1 speaker has already called for the Police Chief to step down following his trip to Israel, and comments since.
@f92164520@trumplicans2024 Here in Alberta they cannot sue you… we have laws that protect the charge/renter/owner from getting sued if a criminal is insured in anyways including self defence on the property… we also have a case where criminal got sued by the owner for damages to property.
