@bryan_johnson What about if you are an athlete with very high caloric consumption. Do you still need to consume your daily intake multiple hours before bed?

I've been trying my damndest to get your motherf*ckers to stop eating hours before bed. A new study out confirms this is the right thing to do. >3hr pre-bed: . heart rate dropped by 5% . diastolic blood pressure dropped 3.5% . cortisol dropped . heart rate variability increased . improved blood glucose and insulin response Study details: 39 overweight or obese participants (aged 36-72 years) investigated "sleep-friendly intermittent fasting" by comparing two protocols: 1. Habitual fasting: A daily fasting window of 11-13 hours, with participants free to eat anytime before bedtime. 2. Extended overnight fasting: A 13-16 hour fasting window, with the last meal consumed at least three hours before sleep. Light was dimmed for both groups at least three hours before sleep. The extended fasting paradigm also demonstrated a 90% adherence rate, suggesting its potential effectiveness for improving cardiometabolic health and sleep in overweight and obese populations. While the three-hour pre-bed limit showed significant benefits in this trial, individuals who are already metabolically healthy may achieve further improvements and require a more stringent limit. To find your optimal window, start by consuming your latest meal three or four hours before bedtime, and then work backward in one- or two-hour increments. Track key metrics such as sleep quality, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, next-morning recovery and focus, and metabolic health/glucose control (ideally using a Continuous Glucose Monitor). For me, an eight-hour pre-bed fast works. My resting heart rate before bed has reached 38 bpm, placing it in the top 99.9th percentile.

FDA and military knew about myocarditis months before they were told by Biden’s pharma henchmen to give shots final approval and mandate them. Top two vaccine approval experts at FDA quit in fall 2021 when this happened. Hardly anyone said a word. Take the jabs off the market.

🚨 BREAKING: President Trump is going BACK to who built America for the celebratory USA 250th coins, instead of a "civil rights" theme The media HATES this because it's "too many white people" - Pilgrims and the Mayflower compact - George Washington for the Revolutionary War - Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence - James Madison and the Constitution - Abraham Lincoln and the Gettysburg Address I personally love it. A return to patriotism.

My medical update: I’m still in Kaiser hospital. Day 2. Haven’t pooped in 4-5 days and lost all ability to control my lower body since yesterday. I don’t know if this is permanent or if it is growing. Legs have feeling and reflex but I have no control over them except the slightest toe wiggle. This is mostly from worsened since yesterday, but the leg numbing condition started over a month ago. I don’t know if the cancer or the constipation has caused the paralysis and I don’t have a doctor in charge as far as I can determine. Kaiser has a rotating group of doctors on call and they only do drive-by doctoring depending what day it is and who is on vacation. I did MRI and CT scans and blood tests but have heard no diagnosis. Nor do I know when I will hear results or from whom. I only know I need one more MRI because the lower back one revealed no obvious cause. I am now in a palliative care program, which gives me a single contact nurse to help coordinate this confusion. That looks promising. Will see if that can help today. I think my general practitioner, oncologist, urologist, dermatologist and a few other doctors are involved. But they are only reachable by email every day or two. I’m hoping palliative care can shortcut that. My pain is well controlled. But I am not allowed to use the bathroom alone, because I might fall, but I am not psychologically capable of doing it while monitored. Strongest laxatives no effect. Enema planned. Lots of details left out but those are the big points. Expecting the next MRI this morning but no one who is awake can confirm. Scott

🚨 VANCE JUST ASKED THE QUESTION EUROPE CAN’T ANSWER VP JD Vance did not talk about treaties, diplomacy, or budget lines— he cut right to the pressure point: “Do you think the American taxpayer will stand for that if you get thrown in jail in Germany for a mean tweet?” That line detonated the whole conversation. Because it exposes the hypocrisy no EU official can outrun: How can Europe claim “shared values” with the United States while it:— jails citizens over speech, — criminalises views on borders, — cancels elections when results are inconvenient, — and silences dissent instead of debating it? That is not democracy. That is insecurity enforced by law. Vance said aloud what everyone else whispers: Friendship is not a subsidy. It is not automatic. It requires shared values. America did not defend Europe for decades so Europe could turn its people into defendants for opinions. This landed hard—because it’s true.

🚨 VANCE JUST DROPPED THE REAL QUESTION EUROPE CAN’T ANSWER 🚨 VP JD Vance didn’t talk about alliances, budgets, or summit smiles— he asked something far more explosive: How can Europe claim “shared values” with America while jailing people for speech? He exposed the contradiction in one line: “Do you think the American taxpayer will stand for that if you get thrown in jail in Germany for a mean tweet?” He’s right. You cannot claim partnership while: — Arresting citizens for dissent — Criminalising debate on borders — Cancelling elections because you dislike the result — Silencing people instead of trusting them That isn’t democracy— it’s insecurity wrapped in policy. Vance said what diplomats won’t: Friendship requires shared values. And free speech is not optional. America didn’t spill blood to defend Europe so Europe could jail its own citizens for opinions. This shot landed hard— because it’s true.

"The most important thing in the next 3-4 years is data centers in space. In every way, data centers in space, from a first principles perspective, are superior to data centers on earth. In space, you can keep a satellite in the sun 24 hours a day. The sun is 30% more intense, which results in six times more irradiance than on Earth. So you don't need a battery. The cooling in these data centers is incredibly complicated. Space cooling is free. You just put a radiator on the dark side of the satellite. The only thing faster than a laser going through a fiber optic cable is a laser going through absolute vacuum. Link satellites with lasers, and you have a faster and more coherent network than any data center on Earth."

This is my fifth conversation with @GavinSBaker. Gavin understands semiconductors and AI as well as anyone I know and has a gift for making sense of the industry's complexity and nuance. We discuss: - Nvidia vs Google (GPUs + TPUs) - Scaling laws and reasoning models - The economics of AI compute - Why Blackwell's delay mattered - The bear case on the AI capex buildout - Data centers in space - The mistake SaaS companies are making Few people love investing more than Gavin. His closing answer about why he loves it turned into a full reflection on his investing origin story, which I had never heard before. Enjoy! 🇺🇸🇪🇺 VP VANCE: EUROPE AND AMERICA DO NOT SHARE VALUES IF THEY ARREST PEOPLE FOR MEAN TWEETS VP JD Vance tore into Europe’s censorship laws, warning that America’s alliance can’t run on hypocrisy. He said friendship means shared values, and jailing citizens over speech isn’t one of them: "Do you think that the American taxpayer is gonna stand for that if you get thrown in jail in Germany for posting a mean tweet? Of course they're not. So the point that I try to make to our European friends, and I think they are our friends, I believe that, I know President Trump does, is that friendship is based on shared values. You do not have shared values if you’re jailing people for saying we should close down our border. You don’t have shared values if you cancel elections because you don’t like the result, and that happened in Romania. You do not have shared values if you’re so afraid of your own people that you silence them and shut them up." Vance’s shot lands hard, it’s not just about NATO, it’s about principle. The EU weaponizes people’s strong emotions about child protection to push mass surveillance and censorship. Their surveillance law proposals conveniently exempted EU officials from having their own messages scanned — and David’s post helps explain why.
