Every teacher, every parent, anybody who works with young people, should read this book by @JonHaidt. He traces the disastrous impact of the smartphone on the mental health of young people. Social deprivation, attention fragmentation, addiction. Thanks Jenny @T4CG for signposting

Budds Farm sewage treatment plant has been discharging the sewage waste of 400,000+ people for 160 hours continuous (~7 days & counting) into Langstone Harbour: a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Special Area of Conservation (SAC) & Internat. RAMSAR site for rare birds

In the short time I’ve been attached to this school, it’s amazing to see the development of the entire school community in so many ways! Love how Howard continue to find ways to inspire and provide the best for the students!

During the holidays, whilst most teaching staff enjoy a slower pace and time for relaxation, there's a dedicated group working diligently behind the scenes in our schools and Trusts. From site teams and IT staff to HR and admin, their tireless efforts ensure everything is in place and running smoothly for when the rest of the community returns. We want to acknowledge, appreciate and thank them for their unwavering commitment. These individuals ensure that everything is primed for success. After all, every member of the educational community plays an essential role in its success. Here's to celebrating the unsung heroes who keep the gears turning, setting the stage for all to achieve and thrive when they return.

Why does @MrTomOakley like teaching time so much? Because it allows him to do all three. #MathsConf32 Time is something that can be measured. Time is an idea that is abstract. Adults expect children to understand it.
